VHT Nite Shades [Merged 8-7] tint tinted smoked painted tails taillight taillights
yeah aight i was wondering about the middle panel of the tail lights. i was thinking of painting it the same color as my car which is pretty common but still cool. now what i was wondering is do most people just paint over the red middle panel or get a new one and paint over that? also does anyone have any info on some good carbon fiber tail lights to replace the red ones with? aight thanks guys.

as long as it isn't spraypaint, i think they're fine get a couple cans of spray tint from an auto parts store, and use a few coats until they're as dark as you desire.
now, on a white car, or some color other than black, i would say that it wouldn't look quite as nice... though i still see it frequently.
hell, ANYTHING is better than the FUGLY altezza lights i keep seeing on 5.0 mustangs

thanx for your thoughts. my friend and i smoked out his civic's taillights a couple of months back, its pretty simple and easy. if anyone is looking into it i suggest you use this one japanese brand called "dia-wyte" its pretty good on scratches and so far its pretty weather proof. also, apply a bunch of thin layers rahter than afew thick layers.
im not diggin the altezzas im seeing so often either, never like them in the first place. pretty g@y if you ask me..

its pretty common to use dental floss to floss it off, be patient and take your time or else your gonna be leaving that sticky sh!t its held on with.

You can also use a heat gun or a hair dryer to remove any stickers or emblems on cars. Followed by some rubbing compound to get off the adhesive.

I just bought some carbon fiber altezza's. They are the same ones that I have on my car now but these ones are carbon fiber, I'm still going to keep my red center with the eclipse lettering.

On talons it is not stick-on letters like the eclipse's. It is molded into the tailight plastic, then the letters are painted black, try some mild paint stripper on it.

I don't think they look ricey, unless you could have spent that money on something else for you engine... haha, j/k
BUT, i think the car is yours, and you should put what you think looks good. I know if i wanted them, i'd put them on there and wouldn't care what anyone else thought..

Smoked tail lights & Vinyl Strip?
Does anybody know where I could find something like a vinyl strip (same color as the paint on car) to cover up the middle section of the tail lights or do you just paint over it? Also does anybody know if smoked tail lights are illegal and where I might find this type of tail lights? Thanks to all that can help.

to smoke the tails -- ya just use covers from GTS - most people just get the covers , and then paint the center section on the cover
