Yesterday I was on my way to the track and my car broke down on the way there, (that's another story), but anyway when the tow truck came he hooked the chain hooks up to the front frame of my car, and they slipped off when he tried to pull it onto the bed. He said "this sucks, I have the wrong hooks on the chains for this". I figured, if he has the wrong hooks on then he would change them and put the right ones on and try it again. To my surprise, he goes to try it again and the hook popped off and grabbed onto my front bumper on the way and cracked the lip of my bumper. The guy told me that it wasn't his fault because I don't have a factory bumper, which is not true, I do have the factor bumper. Then once he got it home, he pointed it out to my mom who told him not to worry about it because my car is old and "rough". What should I do? It's not a huge crack or anything but I kinda want my car to look nice and this wasn't my fault at all, I don't think I should have to pay for this guys mistake? I'll post pictures later, I just needed to see what you guys have to say about this. Thanks

Call the tow truck company and file a formal complaint in regards to the damage done to your front bumper.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll see what I can do to get some money for this.

Your mom sucks.Screw what she said and tell her to have some damn respect for your car.

Its entirely the tow truck drivers fault for trying the same thing that just didn't work the first time knowing he had the wrong hooks, call another truck ya jackass!

Aftermarket bumper? BS!!!!

Go to that place and raise HELL,screw small claims court,go directly to the manager, then ask to speak with his manager or the owner. and show him your car, that guy that cracked your bumper will be lucky to keep his job.

I've gotten people fired for less and that guy is simply incompetent.

You probably missed out on your chance when your mom said "Don't worry about it."

This would only be true if his mom was the owner of the vehicle. Is the car registered in your name? If so, regardless of how old you are, it doesn't matter what mom said.

Well I called the company back and asked about what they were going to do about the situation and he told me to come down to his shop when I get my car running again and he will see what he can do. It's going to suck to have to drive down there and leave my car go for a couple of days but I just hope they don't expect me to pay for it.

I would take the car to a body shop to get a written estimate. THEN take it to his shop with the estimate in hand, he should then foot the bill and everyone is happy.

That's a great idea, I didn't think about that. Thanks a lot, that should put my mind to rest for a little while haha. Thanks again guys.
