does anyone on here have pictures of 7000k HIDS i am having a hard time picking between 6000k, and 8000k and i dont know what the 7000k HIDs look like

Anything over 6000K just creates glare.
It gets the "cool" blue look, but is an annoyance to oncoming drivers.

I don't believe color temperature has anything to do with glare. A higher light output (lumens) would "increase" glare, but not the temperature of the light being produced. The biggest factor in glare as far as the consensus stands, is that it is dependent on the headlight housing; Different reflector or projector types.

That is correct. But, the higher the number you go with, the less light output you will have. This is why somewhere around 4100k-5000k is recommended since the light will be the brightest and most like daylight. Glare happens when people install an HID kit in their stock housing with adjusting it. Also keep in mind that the more blue/purple the headlights are, the more attention they'll attract.

oem hids are right around 4300k i have 8ks and they are too blue . if i could go back id do a 6k those are pretty visible and dont annoy.

If you are using stock housing 700K will do fine. you will have a slight european look and they wont glow too much like blue ones do. Even though they may not actually produce more light blue catches attention and be ready for tickets it you go to 8000 or 9000K bulbs. ROFL

I have aftermarket projectors so I would like to have the purplish look just because of that. :)

Codename: Upgrade, Xbox 360 Talon

thanks guys i order from john at sharpHID before. I didnt want that crazy blue look so i went with the 7000k. I will take pics and post them when i install them next week!

Sorry about the long delay but I just moved so I will get the pictures up this weekend. For now this is the picture of the box. This HID kit came with the HID bulbs and ballast boxes. I was a plug-in install the took all of 30min.

I didnt get a battery wiring harness. Basically the old bulb was replaced with the HID bulb, the factory connector plugs into the HID ballast box and the ballast box plugs into the HID bulb. The HIDs also fixed my headlight dimming problem that happened when I hit the brakes.

i would go with the 6000k cause i hate it when people have any brighter than that and it blinds me.

Sorry about the delay. Here is a pic of my OEM foglights on with the 6000K HIDs

Any idea if these will work on the projector headlights? My car came with them rather than the stocks

Im assuming the projector headlamps use the OEM 9006 low-beam bulb so yes the HID kit will work with projectors. My HIDs have a slight blue tint before they heat up but then they turn bright white. I recommend these to everyone! I dont care about the looks as much as the performance. Driving at night with the OEM lights is terrible compared to the HIDs. I dont know how I lived this long without them.

I thought projectors usually used an 'H' variant bulb such as H3 or H11, etc.

I believe you are correct. I assume they won't work. I'll have to compare bulbs.

I had HID on my RX8 and damn it made it seem as though it were daytime when I was cruising at night. I'd really love to run hids on my Spyder.

Yes with the Ebay Projectors, They have a H1 Bulb i believe. They also say No HID' on them.. Why i dont know ? But to think of it a hid runs cooler then a regular H1 Bulb some of them run at 100w. A hid bulb runs at 35w. Ill be gettin a set soon once i do my front end eclipse conversion. and i will be going 6-8000 k Hid's

You can purchase any HID bulb you want. I bought the 9006 HIDs because thats what the OEM eclipse low-beam bulb is. If I wanted to convert my foglights to HIDs I would buy the H3 HID kit. If I wanted HID high beams I would buy 9005 HIDs. So whatever lights you want to replace with HIDs you need to know what bulb your replacing.
