eBay Motors: 95-99 96 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE EVO CARBON FIBER HOOD VIS (item 270195555238 end time Jan-09-08 09:11:33 PST)

I found this on ebay, from what they say, and their feedback, they look legit with this VIS Evo style hood. So has anyone ever bought a CF hood from these guys?
Also, I searched VIS Eclipse on ebay.. and you wouldnt believe how many different logos I found claiming to be authentic.. this is my main reason for being so skeptical, this business is selling the Evo style hood for nearly 100 less than any other ebay business.. So any feedback would be nice.. I dont mind spending the extra 100 to get a real VIS, but if this is real, and I can save that 100 then why not, right? Thanks in advance.

get in contact with hirev performance on here. 100% legit and theres plenty of feedback on their sales.

Or you can get it from us. $560shipped and we've sold several CF Hoods, Doors and Hatches with great feedbacks :thumb: check the thread http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/ven...hatch-doors-shipped-free-ngk-spark-plugs.html
I will also throw in a set of FREE NGK spark plugs, choice of BPR7s or BPR8s.
PM me for any questions or info.

They are legit. Plus it's ViS and would strongly recommend ViS carbon Fiber products. ViS comes with Grade A carbon fiber and UV ray protect ant which causes a longer life w/o fading.

My vis hood is showing some signs of uv wear after a little more than a year in service. I personally found a deal on ebay, contacted the seller (who didn't have any in stock), then contacted VIS to make sure they had some, and then re-called the ebay seller (Carbon Creations or something like that) and proceded to pay over the phone with credit card and assuring them that my contact at VIS had one waiting on them to pick up.

Same here... my hood is also showing some signs of UV wear which started approximately 1 year after I purchased it, but... on the bright side, the wear hasn't gotten any worse since then. The next CF hood I buy, I'm going to have re-cleared with an additional layer of UV protectant just to make sure that it's thoroughly coated.

What's more of a concern is the upper edge of the center hood vent has quite a few small cracks about a 1/2" long caused from the escaping heat from my manifold. I'm not sure if anyone else has expierianced this with their CF EVO hood, but it may be avoided by keeping the rain gaurd in place (which I have removed).

I'm not sure if the seller in the ebay auction posted is the same seller I bought mine from. But all of the pictures listed in the auction are the same ones I was looking at when I purchased my CF hood back about 3 years ago.

Thanks CarbonEclipse.. You're the guy I pm'd.. So I have a new question, could I clear coat the hood myself? I mean when it shows up brand new.. Couldnt I just clear the hood with some even coats of clear given that I know how to spray paint evenly haha.. what do you guys think?

Yeh I called a guy I know and he said the same thing, I didnt neccessarily mean rattle can it, but I meant using the clear coat you can buy from any store. Either way, I wont be doing it myself. Thanks for the input guys.

I have an ebay bought carbon fiber hood on my car and its treated me great. My friend bought it off some hole in the wall ebay seller by the name of carbonproducts for $350 shipped. He blew up his motor a month later and needed money fast so I bought the hood off him for $200. Lucky me!

Anyways, the point I want to make is that I have a CF hood from a so-so ebay seller and it turned out to be a great deal. I've had it on my car for over two years and it hasn't faded or cracked at all. Really you can find good hoods at a good price on ebay.. you just have to look carefully and get a bit lucky.

Yeh I was watching ebay for a while.. No matter what route I take I think I will be paying at 560 shipped.. This of course is the Evo Style one.. I like others though.. but the Evo Style seems to just give the Silver 2g's so much more character imo.. ESPECIALLY with gunmetal rims

Sorry for hijacking your thread OP, but is there anybody on here that has personally sanded and re-cleared a CF hood? I can get this one for $50 but don't wanna waste my money if it won't turn out good.
