about a year ago i installed a kenwood head unit in my talon. a little while ago, whenever i decided to change cds, my screen would fold down and id put the cd in, but instead up folding back up and playing the cd, it just ejcts it almost immediately. thankfully, my stereo would start taking cds at some point again, but it would always not take them at other times. well now, it wont take them at all. the cd just goes in and out. i read the kenwood manual, and it doesnt say anything in there except a mode that forced cds to play, which didnt work. if anyone has any suggstions, i'd really appreciate it.

id try cleaning the cd player out first and go from there,
if it dont take them then , your ###### better off jus getting a new head unit, i suggest a clarion although kenwood are a very good brand

yea id go with cleaning it first , then if it dont work you might as well get a new one ,
cause its not worth all the costs of shipping it to the company to get it fixed , so you better get ready to get a new one if cleaning dont work

My head unit has this problem every once in a while and I just wait a few seconds or smack it and it'll take the CD. The only thing I can really say is my unit is around 2 years old, so it has some color too it. Dust and god knows what has collected inside of it and messed with the laser. You can send it in to the company and they'll repair the laser & its components if you want, but it probably wouldn't be worth it. Just get a new head unit. If you can find someone that doesn't listen to CD's.... sell it!

my jenson did this same thing i cleaned it really well and it worked like a champ afterwords

CDs? WTF Oh, those old plastic record-looking things?

Dude. Check WalMart. For $80, you can get one that takes SD cards, USB, or a plug-in. Besides those hoary old "CD" things.
