i heard somewhere that you can change the regular bulbs behind the heater conrtols to LED's and i was wondering if anyone has done thuis to thir car or knows what reistor to put onthe LED

thanx guys this is probably a dumb question but whts the hvac? in the theard you linked me it sai to use 330-ohm resistors... Part #: 271-1113
5mm Blue LED 2600mcd... Part #: 276-316

sorry i pressed sedn by accident. anyways do i use one 330-ohm resitor for each LED? and is that only if it is 2600 mcd? because it said to use a 3000 mcd if you can find it and i was wondering which resitor to use on it. and i know this is alot of questions but how many LED's per knob? one more thing he said to shave off the round part of the LED to project it more, how much do you shave ?

hvac is the heater and ac controls etc

its really easy to do, just go get the resistor and led from home depot, get the old light thinger out, solder, and there you go

mine has been in for half a year now without problem, and looks quite neat.

1 led per nob
same resistor no matter the mcd
1 resistor per light

dont shave off any of the led, it doesent make it brighter

actually on the hvac, there i only 1 led for the entire light panel. It just fits into a small slot and reflects around. Helpful hint: if you take some wire cutters and cut the original led off the plastic housing part, you can fit in the new led into the same small plastic piece making it really easy to mount back in.

Have you installed theses bulbs yet...if so are they bright and u have any pics? I just wanna know what looks better the bulbs or the LEDs..plus i want them to be able to dim down

First off you have to get that rear wiper switch out of your car and into a nice flat working space and look inside. You should see a kinda flat round brown circle turn that counter-clockwise about a quarter turn and you'll have it out. As you see the stock light is really tiny compared to the led. You'll have to make the led thin enough to fit into that hole at least enough to get the wanted light into the switch. This next part seemed crazy to me also but it worked fine. You take the 2 wires coming from your led/resistor and solder one to one metal tab and one to the other (I don't think polarity matters). After you solder it onto the tabs make sure the 2 wires aren't touching (I wraped the wires in electrical tape before i soldered it in) then plug it in and test it out. From there all you have to do is make sure the wires are taped down to the switch so they won't rattle free for any reason and reassemble the switch. I hope this was clear enough. If you have any more questions just ask.
