Otsego,
Installed it yesterday and it doesn't want to work right.

It is grounded, has power, just won't work the way it should. When you start the car the countdown from 30 starts until it hits "0" and then it sits at the set "30" seconds. Never goes up. And when you shut the car off the car...well... shuts off with no countdown.

We used the Greddy harness, and so it plugs right in. There is a seperate green and red wire off the Greddy harness, but no clue where those go... if anywhere.

Anyone have any ideas... this is in a 98 GSX A/T w/ alarm, but we have the harness for the alarm .

Dude your not in the right fourm.

The two wires with bullet connectors coming off the GReddy harness are switched and unswitched power, and they're just there for convenience (so you can hang other stuff off the loom).

If you've got the right connector, and you haven't busted something, it really should "just work". The fact that it doesn't turn itself off after the countdown suggests something really screwy is wrong with the wiring; you might want to check it back through the harness to be certain.

The problem is that it does shut off when the car is shut off. Not that it doesn't turn off. It doesn't countdown at all, nor does it increase with driving it.

Actually, that's not what the description says at all; it says that when he *starts* the car, the countdown starts.

It sounds to me like the harness is wired wrong; specifically, the timer is thinking that the 'start' line is actually the 'ignition' line. As for 'counting up', I've never seen mine do that (but then again, I watch the road when I'm driving, not my gadgets).

Definitely check the actual wiring within the harness vs. the supplied wiring diagrams and the DSM wiring diagrams.

There is no way I coudl have messed up the hook up with the harness.

Unplug the connector by the ingition and take the male and female side of the harness and hook them up. simple as that. ground it, ebrake line tap, and if wanted the 02 sensor off the ecu and your done.

as for the problem it does both.

car starts - countdown begins till you put it in drive to stop it or till you let it wind down and then it doesn't shut the car off, but set itself to 30 seconds and stays there.

turning key off after driving - car just shuts off along with the TT.

I think I am just going to have a friend hardwire it in without the harness as he has done a few with no problems and never used a harness.
