### both my eclipses had trouble holding up the rear hatch i wonder if theres any way to take them off an fix them without junkyarding or buying new ones?

Better to replace them. They shouldn't cost more than $30 a set.
I must have opened and closed the hatch at least ten times the night I replaced my hatch struts.

i used a piece of pcv pipe i cut to the length of the strut base and removed one side of one strut,slid it over and re-mounted the strut. when you open the hatch just slide the pipe over the smaller diameter side and wedge it between the base and the hatch. worked for me until i realized it took less thought and effort to do it right and just buy new ones.
