Allright, I think it's time for me to step up and get a CF hood like everyone else :p but I don't want a cheesy low quality one. Since most of them I see have plastic undersides, is there any hood out there 100% CF? I'm leaning towards the OEM style, but I REALLY want one that looks like the EVO's (except all the ones I'm seeing look like EVO charicatures and not really like the EVO's) I'm up for suggestions, so let's here em people :rocks:

People told me ViS makes a good carbon fiber hood... But I've seen them being sold on eBay and that doesn't really say much :D

You can pm me if you want to know where to NOT get one. Just in case you randomly come across the vendor like I did. I believe we can't post anything on the forums about vendors, so that's why I won't publically post it.

Just because a vendor sells on ebay, doesn't mean it is bad. I don't know of any companies selling 100% CF hoods. Most have a fiberglass backing with carbon fiber on top.

Go VIS or Carbon Creations. I have a VIS Invader style CF hood on my 98 GSX and not only does it look friggin badass but it also lowered my engine bay temperatures by 28 degrees and my car also ran 2 or 3 degrees cooler. Therefore it should give some minor performance and reliability benefit from the cooler temps, it looks awesome(i get compliments all the time), but it's also fairly cheap, extremely light, and double sided carbon fiber so it's more than half the weight of the stock metal hood.

im looking into the same thing. GF is buying me one for valentines day. I was thinking of going with seibon of vis. I have not heard much feedback on seibon products or customer service. Anyone have products from saibon of have delt with them.

im on my 2nd cf hood...both from VIS on my baby...the first was oem but i changed it this time an got an invader styled one....im in love with my cf hood every meet i go to in sj people always are complimenting me on mine....on yea both of mine are off of ebay straight from vis i just saved like 40 bucks buyin off of ebay thats all...an there def full CF an they should they cost enough....but there SOOOO worth it. you wont regret getting one:thumb:
