Ok guys I am confused and need some help. I have read post after post and I want to make sure I have this right. I wrecked my 98 GST Spyder and crushed the front end. I am waiting for the quote back from the body shop but I know they will have to replace both lights/hood/bumper/fenders. OEM lights are going to run I believe around $500 so I want to look at going with a real HID setup. From what I understand is there no one that makes the light assembly with the true HID as a bolt in unit. It looks like the only option I have it to get the OEM or aftermarket assembly and retrofit using parts bought elsewhere. Is this correct?

However, if I just want the "look" of HID I see plenty aftermarket assemblies but wondered which is the best as I don't want the Ebay cheapies. Please forgive the newbie question but anyone with feedback please post.:beatentodeath:

There companys that make hid kits that will replace your stock bulbs. Here's one webb site www.matrixracing.com. I know pilot, hella, piaa, and halgen. Makes hid replacements. Now if you are looking at buying the projector headlight assembly then you will might have retro fit a kit for it. I am pretty sure there is a shop in your area that can help you out. I want hids for my whip(car) and I can pay an H1 kit for the bulb replacement but will it fit I don't know.

Without retrofitting a real HID projector, your only option is the replacement HID bulbs kit. I have them in my bike and the vision is great for me. But since my stock housing doesnt cut off the light, it blinds on coming people. Im tired of people flashing there lights at me, so im gonna retrofit a bmw projector this winter.

And I have a spare bmw projector from a 3 series if you're interested. Also I have 2 projectors with TL's retro'd into them also. PM for more details.
