with or without spoiler?

Just want some opinions. I JB-welded up the holes where the park bench used to be. Now I just need to sand them over & get some paint. I was going to put the low 2g spoiler back but realized that in addition to me not having that little plug I was talking about a little while back I also don't have the little peices that wrap around the sides. I went on eBay & found a place that sells low 2g spoilers painted for $115 plus shipping. I didn't look for any turbo spoilers because I really don't like them & if I put them on there everyone would bi*** & moan about a turbo spiler on a nt. Anyways I'm thinking of just friggin' it & leaving it bare. Once sanded it'll look better. What do you guys think. In her current state:

Hey man i like the bare look myself. Gives it that "drifter look" you know. Heres a pic of mines. I Welded the holes up filled it in the fiber glass and primered it in about 3 hours i guess didnt really keep track of time. Now i just need to get it painted.

i think the 2gs look better without the spoiler, just more weight back there that isnt functional in my eyes. The 1g spoiler is a different story though because those are functional and look good.

Thanx man. My cusin works at a body shop near me and i learned from him. That was my 1st time actually tring it out. Really not that hard when your doing it. Well my opinion would keep it spoilerless. Well good luck!

Actually, alot of 2g non-turbos came with the "rainbow" wing. I think it was an option. So i doubt people can give you hell for having one.

For an Eclipse I like it without the spoiler, unless you want to put a high rise Talon wing like the one on my car.

I had both no spoiler and spoiler, I like it much better with the high rise spoiler, also the rear end feels floaty at high speeds without the spoiler. The spoiler believe it or not does hold the back end down a considerable amount.

I am aware that nts did in fact come with the turbo spoiler but it wasn't too common. When most people see the tall one they think "turbo spoiler". Then when they find out it's an nt I'm sure they'll call rice & bi*** & moan like babies & then start whinng about how F&F ruined their lives & the world will never be the same & key my car because I'm a ricer & all sorts of good stuff.

Which is also why the exhaust is coming off too. Trying to turn everything back to stock as best as I can. In my opinion modding an nt in any way is a sure-fire way to loose any respect anyone had to begin with.

I personally love the 2ga Talon with a shaved clean spoiler. There was a AWD one with the 2-tone painted matching chrysler blue, and it was so hot. I wanted to buy it but I didnt have the funds at the time. Its my goal to get another 2g someday....

Do what ever you want to your car. My friends bi*** and moan at me because I did not buy a turbo eclipse, hense I can't afford it and they all have turbo cars. One even has a 3 DSM's, a 92` Talon AWD, a 97 TSI FWD (capable of low 11s, but he gets bored and decides to blow it up time to time), and he just bought a 97 GSX that is beautiful. I love my NA, my 99 OZ got totaled and now I picked up a 97` GS from a neighbor for 2,000$. <3 the barcelona red by the way . Im in the process of a m/t swap, turbo wing, new front bumper and lowering it one inch. I also have a 88` Conquest that is in the works to shove some of my friends heads up there asses. Point is, do whatever you want to your car, its YOUR CAR, who cares what other people think

I used to think that way. But after years of bitching & going on about how ####ing worthless of a person I am because of the wing I just got fed up with it. I couldn't take it anymore. The death stares, never being able to have an opinion about any car whatsoever because I drove a riced nt, it was too much. I know everyone goes on & on about how ricers are ruining the world but honestly...the constant whining about every ####ing car out there being rice is a worse problem. It's getting to the point that that's all car guys ever talk about anymore. I want out. I've even thought about selling the car & buying a Saturn or something. At least then I wouldn't envoke any emotion in them.

I've been contemplating doing this for awhile, taking off the whale tail spoiler, but I've seen some picture where it actually looked bad with it off, and some where it looks good with it on. A guy I frequently see who drives a widebody GSX took off his spoiler not too long ago, with the wide body kit, it just looks amazing, and looks like a lambo.

Does anyone else have any picture with the whale tail off?

Eh...not a problem for me. I've pretty much decided that it's staying off. Too much effort to buy a three-piece, paint it, then mount.

Next "mod" is stock exhaust. I assume I can get one off of eBay or something. Also I'm sure a junk yard has one.

Then stock wheels. Or at least some under 18'. Then I may put some stock springs on. Depends. I really love the stance.

You car looks real good w/o the spoiler, your rims, stock skirts and bumpers bring it low enough to the ground to where it just looks real "clean".

There is nothing wrong with getting the turbo spoiler for your car, it just looks sexy. Honestly, if you had one of those aluminum wings on your car before I would have given you the death stare as well, it just doesn't work on the stock body.

I am very conscious about putting certain parts on my talon's body too, don't want to give the wrong impression either. It seems like you are showing a nice clean look with your car, no one can knock on you for that.

About the muffler, is it just a muffler? Or do you have an exhaust system?

I personally like the 2ga low spoiler for the eclipses. It gives it that clean look, but not too big like the 2gb spoiler. I like them both, but the 2ga is a little more low key and gives it a clean look...

Not to back track here, but the '99 OZ special edition Eclipse was non-turbo but had the turbo wing from the factory

QUESTION---I just bought a N/T eclipse and I want to take the wing off and she wants to keep it on. So I need 21 DSMer's to settle this lil war...Here is the pic for you guys
