FIrst, I dont even know if this thread is in the right section, I didnt see anywhere where I could make this thread. Well I had broken the very top clip of my A-Pillar (the actual pillar that a gauge pod screws in to. I used some velcro and it held fine for 3 months but ever since the temps here in VA have gotten above 100 degrees, my A-pillar would just fall off and the glue they use on the velcro melts and turns into sticky gummy type material. My question is, what are my options. Am I going to have to find an A-pillar from the junkyard or is there any vendor that sells them. Also, is it possible to find a custom clip somewhere from an auto parts store and kind of super glue it..would that possibly hold?, I know this sounds dumb and halfassed. Any help would be appreciated.

Your first, best bet is just a screw with a bezel. It'll hold best, will be removable and if you choose carefully, really won't look bad. After that, you might try Gorilla Glue, or any of the other modern adhesives. Those will make removal a nuisance.
You can get the piece from Mitsubishi Graveyard for a replacement.

i was just wondering if you have ever messed with fiberglass? cause maybe you could fix the a- pillar that way. if you haven't fixed your problem yet maybe you can post some pics, it doesn't sound like a very difficult fix.

If you go to a paint and body store or even a interior store they will have screws with color matched caps to cover the screw. All you would have to do is drill the in the screw to replace the clip then put the cap over the screw to math the rest of pillar.. If you have any problems please pm me...Good luck

Well, when I purchased real carbon fiber pillars for my car, they came as a mold from the real A pillar and I had this problem as well. The A Pillar I have has three guage pods in it so it makes it a bit heavier, but I actually broke off the pieces from my real pillar and super glued them to my carbon fiber one, it was a pain in the you know what to line it up right, but I finally did it and it holds just fine. I've even pulled it out and they have yet to break off from the super glue. So I would just do that, or what the guys above said.
