how would i go about putting a dual exhaust on a 2g eclipse? what do i need to buy? any pics?

I never seen pics that show the unde the car just 2 pipes. I don't think anyone on her has done simply becasue it not nessesary but you would have to look under the car and plan the routing of the pipes then draw it up and buy the mandrel bends.

Later,

I wouldn't recommend it there isn't much room to route the pipes and one side would have to be much longer than the other. Plus look at the rear bumper you would have to cut it to make a rounded part for the exhaust to sit at. Not what I would want to do with my bumper.

How much more of a performance difference would I see with a Dual exhaust as opposed to a single exhaust on a 92 Talon TSi? And is there a way to get all of the power without all of the noise?

I think this may be a post for the newbie section. A true dual exhaust is not practical on a lot of cars. People have experimented with 3.5 inch piping with straight through race style mufflers and noticed no gains above the standard 3in. As for noise issues I would trying reading up on some different style mufflers and try to stay away from systems with 5in tips. Above all else if you want a quiet ride DON’T get the Buschur.

Dual Exhaust = More Weight

Single Exhaust = Less Weight

Personally, I find dual exhaust on four cylinder engines a little ridiculious.

i agree with nowayout...only get dual exhaust if you're doing it for show....performance wise it will actually hurt you due to the lack in back pressure.

i know its not a 4 banger, but on the subject; a guy around here has a beautiful stock-appearing late-model 300ZX twin turbo with duals and mufflers... its really sharp, and its the only thing about his car that lets you know he's been modding it.

no rice, and theres about 7-10k worth of engine mods.. its sweet.

ok, what's that got to do with dual exhaust on an eclipse? plus, don't Z's come with dual exhaust stock anyways?

man the 300ZX TT is like my all time dream car (IMO and no one elses ;) )

My cousin had a 96 TT that he left me when he passed away, together we put over 25K in mods and ended up with a lil over 600HP at the wheels. An awesome Viper killer.

Unfortunately he blew the engine racing a Diablo  i guess that sux for me since i ended up with a sweet ass ride minus a working engine

ya i know its pointless to the rest of you all, just brought back memories

anyway, truck on dood

espydur-

nothing to do with duals on an eclipse, had to do with duals, however. if was just talking about a really sweet car with dual exhaust on it, if you dont like it, either dont read it or forget you did.

ok, well it just seemed pointless to me...i thought you were "trying" to make some kind of conclusion or something. while we're on the subject...i think ferrari modena's are really sweet car too. oh, and the mclaren F1....very sweet.

hey, one other thing...if i don't read it, how would i know if i like it or not? and trust me...i wish i could forget it.

"i know its not a 4 banger, but on the subject"

The Toyota Mr2 is very much so a four banger!! offered in a turbo version too.

what the hell are you talking about? the guy was talking about 300zx, not a mr2. read the whole post dude. LOL:rolleyes:

The Reason why mr2 have dual exhaust cause there engine is in the back and it would be a restriction if it had single exhaust
