What are the other stock CD player wires for?

This is the backround here. New CD player. Took out the stock amp and speakers. I'll be wiring it all in myself with new wiring. Lots of stock sound wiring have been cut, so there is no going a premade harness route. I'm going to be using GM weatherpak connectors.

So, I'm not worried about the colored bundle. There are 4 other ones coming out of the Infinity stock head unit. What are they? One was for the stock amp, that was removed with the amp. Now, there are 2 RCA style plugs, one being bigger and one being smaller. And there is another plug that goes under the carpeting to the back.

My guesses are one is for the antenna, one is for the antenna motor, and one MIGHT be for a CD changer. I didn't have a CD changer when I got the car, but it was used, and this car is a '98 Spyder with everything but the equalizer and ABS for the options, so it might have come with the CD changer, and it was removed.

Any idea what those three other black wires are for? Thanks.

One (black) is for the antenna. It is about the same size and rigitity as an RCA wire, and it should be connected into the CD player with a male end connector. It will look just like a RCA wire connector that plugs in but without the 4 metal "fins" that surround the male connector. The other one is for the antenna motor as you thought. This one is smaller but also black and is used to power the antenna up and down when the radio is turned on and off. As for the third, I am pretty sure that there are some that come stock with CD changers (spyder) and that is most likely what that wire is as well. I would say that you could always trace that wire to the back and see where it goes, or buy a chiltons manuel for your car and then you would know for sure what it does. That would be your best bet because it will help you a lot in the long run.

...Chiltons...

I didn't even freaking THINK of that thing. Thanks. I forgot about that book (I forget how messy it is, too). I've been staring at the manual CD forever.

Thanks for that!
