I was wondering if anyone has ever put and 92-94 style talon rear spoiler on a older eclipse. If anyone has how does it look and do you have any pictures of it?

Thanks
john

John. second gen things dont look too good on first gens. i have a first gen. and i wanted to put on a eclipse wing. and the guys on here showed me that it doesnt flow with the rest of the body on the car. i mean, if you just trying something new. then go for it. but i dont think its going to go with the flow. the 1gen is more boxy and mean. the 2nd gens are more girly and still look really good. o, and have more of a round body. so ya know.:rocks:

Umm....isnt a 92-94 a first gen, and a 95-99 a second gen?? Isn't he just asking about putting a first gen talon spoiler on a first gen eclipse?

That post makes no sense. He wants to take a 1gb wing and put it on the 1ga bodystyle. Nothing was said about a 2g. Personally I like the 1ga wing. It is a little boxier than the 1gb wing. It is also a little shorter. I am sure it bolts right up to the 1ga body but I don't know how well it flows with the lines. I will get this moved to the right forum so they can help you better.

Thank you, I thought i was loosing my mind when i read the reply

thanks guys one of the reasons why i want to change it is because mine rattles really bad. Plus i think the talon one looks better on the talon but i dont know about on the eclipse

When it come's to body styling it's all personal preference no matter what someone else tells you on here. Your car, do as you please.

I've wondered this myself. Does the 1gb Talon spoiler bolt onto a 1ga Talon? I love my 1GA but I am not too keen on the spoiler. I prefer the 1GB spoiler and would change if it would bolt right up in place of the wrap around.

Which part of the spoiler rattles? If it is the center section check to make sure your bolts are tight, if it is the side pieces you might have to add bushings. I used door pin bushings off of a Honda I believe. Not sure about the make because I just took the stud to advance and searched their help isle. You will need to do this even with a new spoiler as well.

yeah. i read it wrong. because when people talk about first gens im used to seeing the 90-94. sorry guys. hmm.. you should give it a go.. sorry for the comment earlier. because. i read it wrong i guess. umm.. yeah. send me pics if you do it..

Wait. whats the diffrence in the spoilers. is it the 3 piece instead of the 1 piece. because yeah. if you have the three peice. i have the 1 piece spoiler if maybe you want to trade. i dont like my spoiler on my car.send pics of diffrences please.

cody.

Wait, I want to know the answer to this question too, so someone whos done this or knows if it can be done chime in, I dont care how it looks and I dont think he does neither, he just wants to know if a 1GB wing would bolt up to a 1GA body, as do I.

the talon one i am talkin about is a 3 piece but its alot smaller and just all around looks better then the spoiler that is on my body style. To see what were talkin about just go the dsmtuners gallery and look at a 92-94 style talon they have different tail lights and different spoilers compared to my car or your car.

its the center section that rattles really bad. Ill be boosting my car and it will rattle up to 4 grand and then it will completely stop until i shift. i hate it so much im about to open my trunk lid and duck tape the shit out of it. I tried taking it off figuring that the bolts were loose a while ago but i couldnt figure out how to take the center section off without messing it up.

Just open your hatch (if you are like the rest of us I suggest you have a pair of vice grips ready), and pull the plastic piece off of the bottom of the hatch. I can't remember the exact number of bolts there ( think it is 4 10mm head size but don't quote me) but I will find out for you tomorrow. Once you have that cover off all you have to fo is tighten the bolts and the rattle should go away.

Ok, does anyone know what the answer to the original question of this thread is, because I would love a red lip, spoiler, whatever you want to call it.

I have done the conversion, and i think it looks awesome! I have no rattling at all, I just used machine screws to bolt it back together. And yes a B wing will fit on an A, there will be holes you will have to fill in though.
