painting 95 eclipse rims

Hi guys just picked up a new to me 95 eclipse gs-t. I am gonna be painting the wheels. I got the paint, paint stripper, sand paper and wire brush. The problem I am having is that the wheel has some salt corrosion, on the outer edge of the rim "the shiny part". The problem I am having is that I cannot seem to get the corrosion off. Can anyone help me in my troubles?

I have the same problem with my 5 spoke stockers, not to mention my clear coat of plastic is pealing off two of the rims. But you know how I fixed it, Konigs.
