I have a HKS Turbo Timer Type1. Meaning its black with a blue backlight. I have the TT in front of my gauge cluster. I really like it there because it is easy to read and all its little functions are nice and visable. My problem is that late at night when it is dark out the blue light from the TT is just IN MY FACE! It is so bright that I cant drive without not seeing this intense blue in my peripheral vision. I don't really want to move the TT so I was wondering if anyone has done or knows if you can add something like a dimmer switch so I can turn down that crazy blue light.

Here is what it looks like at night.

heres a suggestion....run the power from a dash light that can be dimmed with the dimmer switch.........I have all my gauges running like this and it works. Im not making promises to you but its worth a shot.

Or you could cut out a little rectangle piece of tint and apply till your happy

I'm not sure, but I think he means dim the turbo timer separately while keeping the rest of the lights at the same brightness. Also, I don't know of any other way to hook up gauges/turbo timers other than splicing into the factory gauge wires which dim. I may be wrong though and he might have his turbo timer hooked up to a power source that doesn't dim, I don't know eneough from his description.

you can buy a dimmer dial from autozone for like 8 bucks. just put the dial on your power wire, and extend it to mount it somewhere you like. then simply turn the dial for less or more brightness.

Won't dimming its 12V power source lower the voltage and cause problems? I know headunits come with a seperate dimmer wire for this.

I have mine in about the same spot. I just turn it off if it's buggin me. You can cycle it until the display goes black but as soon as you turn the car off it'll kick on and do its job. Usualy I just deal with it as I use the TT's shift light feature.
