Hi,
so this is going to be a tricky question.
I am located in Germany and I need my car ( 2G Eclipse ) to be approved by the TÜV. And they are now telling me that I need to have yellow, or at least orange, rear turning signals but I don't want to buy the eu-spec rear lights, I want to keep the us-spec completely red taillights.
So anyone got any idea what I could do to make the it light up yellow/orange ? I was thinking about trying very bright yellow LEDs or something like that...

what colour are they now? I might have an idea. If they are clear, you could try using a yellow or orange coloured sheet of plastic like they use in theatres to make the spot lights different colours. Does this help?

It's about the stock red taillights of the 2g Eclipse, I'll have to wire them in a way so that only the corners light up when using the turning signals ( they don't allow the whole rear light to be used as turning signal, don't ask me why...regulations say :nono: ).
That's the reason why the stock euro taillights have these amber corners...

can you post a picture of the stock taillights there? the only thing i can think of is get a talon rear conversion haha :thumb:

damn man would you like to trade? i would send you my us spec tail light! I want to get euro spec eclipse tail lights!!! Us spec even tho you change the bulbs it wont be orange.

Well, the problem is that I have the us-spec taillights on my car, since it is an import from the US (They never sold the turbo model in Europe...).
You all know how the us-spec taillights look, but in Europe the taillights look like this

We also had different side mirros looking like this

Well, I'll have to try to get some euro spec taillights then, maybe I'll find a used pair, they're somewhat expensive off the dealership...( they quoted me 350 Euros ).

@EclipseGSX012 : I could try to setup a trade with someone from our germany DSM-Forum, maybe someones interested in trading his stock taillights...should I ask around ?

yes that would be nice of you man.

if you are looking for a way to wire it up, i believe there is a write up on it in the write up section... or if you're looking how to change the color, try like the other people have said.. get a bright white bulb or led (if you get an led, this will cause your blinkers to blink "hyper" fast) then that will discolor it a lil to the point of it being orange..or you can replace all the lights except the blinker (when you re wire it) to red LEDS that way it gives the illision that the tails are super red and the normal red color is lighter
