Rear Body Kit Problems

I have a Bomex rear body kit installed. After I put it on I found that I can't install all of the bolts to the side of the body kit because the rear bumper plate sticks out too much, my body kit hits it and prevents me from putting in all the bolts. Because of this there is a huge gap where the bodykit connects to my rear fenders. I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem and what they did to fix it..

If you look below the gas tank you can see a small gap.. It has gotten progressively worse and now it is about 1/2 inch from the body of the car.

what did you use to install the bumper?? Did you use rivets??

Since mine is a Talon using an Eclipse kit, I just made custom L shaped brackets, mounted them to the car and used bolts to attach it. The only reason it's gotten progressively worse is because I needed to take the kit off a few times. It seems harder and harder to get it to fit each time I do that, I thought it would be easy since the kit had time to stretch. It's not loosening up on its own though if thats why you asked that question. If I try to tighten the outer bolts to make the edges fit I'll surely snap the fiberglass. I was thinking of taking some rebar or some stype of stell and fabricating a new rear bumper plate, one that runs straight across and doesnt bow out to block the body kit. This is the only thing I can think of.
