What came in the 91 GSX stock? I figure they used 6.5" speakers in the door, I know 6x9s in the back, but what about in the dash? Are they 3.5" speakers, or is that where tweeters mount? I'm curious because I want to purchase a component system if that's what goes in the dash openings. I haven't taken the covers off because I don't want to break something just to see what's under those openings.

Do a search for Speaker Size. There are a ton of posts covering this.

I know the cover looks like a 6x9 speaker in the back, but there are odds that you have an oversized 6.5" speaker under there.

Don't just pry up the small covers either, you have to remove the whole panel to access the door and rear speakers.

some came w/ 6x9's and others came w/ the above stated overssized 6.5's. i personally havent figured out what options got what. im think that the cars that came w/ cd players had the amp and 6x9's

I read that it has 4" in the dash, what I thought was a 5.25" cuz that's what people were sayin, however I got the door panel off halfway and its a big ass oblong shaped hole, not round yet not square, yet the 6" speaker I put in place didnt fit at all, so I'm assuming it's a 6.5". Does anyone make any sort of adapter that'll make the 4" hole fit a smaller tweeter from a component kit?
