i just bought a neon shifting nob and it plugs into the lighter hole. i was wondering if there was some way i could run the wire through the shifting boot and under the consol to the lighter ? so i dont have wires running all over my car and i have a free lighter space.

Yea, you can do that. You will have to pull your center console off enough to get the shift boot of the shifter so you can run the wires through the boot. You can even cut the cigarette lighter attachment off and hardwire it in so you can still use the cigarette lighter. Just remember which wire is the power and which is the ground.

I will try that in the next few days and i will post on how it turned out. i may even try to wire a togle switch in to thanks for the advice

I say lose the neon shift nob. Buy a one that wont brake. But if thats your thing then becareful of hard shifting because the plastic will brake in no time. Personally I had one in my rice days and trust me worst 20.00 I ever spent. :thumb:

I did actually go out and bye the neon shifter it came with the car i plan to replace it with a nice momo nob. since i dont have money right now im stuck with the neon nob so i figured if i have to keep it for a while i should put it in right.
