1g(b) rear 6x9 removal

ok well both my rear 6x9's are blown adn i want to buy new ones. how do i go about pulling them out? i tried to see if they would just pop out (looked like they would) but they didnt seem to want to...do i need to pull off all that plastic sh*t around it to get them out?

well, i figured out how to get the rear speakers out, took off the plastic piece only to find out they werent 6x9's like i thought they were. took back the ones i bought and bought the right kind...heres a pic.

Some 1gs came with 6x9s, others didnt. Guess you were one of the unlucky ones !

Looks good though, always nice to have speakers that work. Wish I did

they light up blue inside the cone when the base hits hard enough...part of the reason i left the cover off.

I was one of the unlucky ones that got the 6.5's. I bought 6x9's though, and I made them fit. I unbolted the black metal speaker bracket and whipped out the jigsaw and made the hole to fit 6x9's and redrilled holes for the mounting screws. On the panel I cut out the ribbing and the rest of the stuff so that the hole is the same size as that mesh/metal cover. After I put it all back together it looks just like it did before, only now there are 6x9's in the back

im not that persuaded to do that, i considered it for about a minute but im not keeping this car forever so i figure it will be best as it is right now. i still havent decided whether or not im going to put the covers back on, i kinds like how you cna see the speakers the way it is right now.
