looks great...I was considering painting my wheels the same color just glad that I got to see it first :thumb:

Nice job :thumb: us okies know how to roll :sneaky: LOL. Nice car I'll have to hit up some of the city meets once I move for college. I'm the only turbo dsm in the whole county :|

What kind of paint did you use? Looks much better this way. Nice job. :thumb:

get 2 cans of aircraft remover to strip the original paint(some scrubbing required)ok..alot of scrubbing
get 2 cans of Duplicolor primer
get 2 cans of Duplicolor paint(the color you want the wheel)
and get 2 cans of Duplicolor clear coat, and just follow the instructions

When doing this project the aircraft remover will tend to get on your skin and hurt, especially if you're sweating, and if it does start to hurt DO NOT try and wash it off, it'll be 10 times worse(learned it the hard way  )
Check out my gallery for pics of my wheels in which i used those supplies for, and btw the information i just posted was in MANY different threads already, so next time, try lookin alittle harder, but hope i still helped

i painted my rims the same color a while back. it came out very good. i was wondering how do you get the polish lip? since i wanted to have a polish lip but didnt know how.

you dont need to use aircraft remover thingy.

all i did was sand my rims down with 1000 or higher grit sandpaper. sand it down very good until it look like a very faded color of the original color rim. then get some dish soap and wash it down nice and clean then dry it up very good. dont want to have water on it. then get 2 can of duplicolor and spray away. spray about 4 or more coats. see my gallery to see how mine came out.

edit: a link to my old thread to have some better before and after on how mine turn out.

yeah aircraft remover saved me alot of time.....i didnt have to sand as much because the remover make my rims pretty smooth....... and the texture is pretty smooth..... theres a few little rough spots but im gonna fix that here in few days.... O and theres alot of turbo dsms down here......... i know of atleast 10.... and those are just the ones ive talked 2

See the funny thing is, in order to get a polished lip, you DO need aircraft remover, or some sort of paint stripper for metal surfaces.

Strip the paint off(if you do this with the wheels on the hardest part to get the paint off is near the wheel of course)

Mask off the lip

Primer the wheel

Paint the wheel the color you want

clear coat the wheel

(i clear coated my lip but i don't think you really need to, plus since there is no primer there isn't really anything for the paint to stick to on that part so it is alittle iffy.

actually the talon swirly rims all have a polished lip...... mine just looked like shit and i wet sanded them, and thats about it

i'll prolly try and get a polish lip next time i repaint my rims that is if i dont get new rims in 6 months.
