Here's a pic of my hood in primer. It took me a couple weeks to make but it was just a hobby project with a spare hood I had. I now have it on the car but the paint looks like hell. I'll get some pics of it installed later. LMK what you think.

great work...i like it...still keeps the original look...how did you do the other hump on the other side? just wondering...but looks great...post some pics of it on the car

I'd also like to see pics on the car, but it looks nice.

The hump was tough but basically I cut 3 slits in the hood like this:

i i
i i
i i (This is a big U shape if it doesn't work)
i____________i

Then I hammered from the bottom to make a dome shape. I layed a small piece of fiberglass over the top and then skim coated with bondo to smooth out.

The vent was alot harder to make the corners look good. I raised the front lip of the vent and lowered the rear to try and make a vaccum area to suck out heat.

All in all it was alot of sanding and even more dust! But I am no body man and I think it came out good.

Nice work!

I was thinking of something similar to vent the underhood heat but wondered how to structure the vent to "draw" the hot air out while at speed

^^^ahhh.. you posted the answer while I was typing :thumb:

very nice, I would have done a naca duct to draw air from the existing inner fender opening up past the filter and then out the hood (instead of trying to force the flow to go the other way) but the radiator duct opening looks very nice...

that looks like some really great work. Awesome job!

Well here are the pics of it installed. Don't bash my paint or I'll  It has been painted black and wetsanded but not buffed yet.

i still must say nice work...looks good on the car..cant wait to see it buffered and stuff...and then paint the rest of the car to match the black :thumb:

Great, you just worsened your aerodynamic efficiency.

At speed, it will turn from a vent to an intake. All the air going in there will not exit underneath the vehicle, ruining high speed stability.

You need a bigger lip around the front of it to create a low pressure area, which will pull air out from the engine bay. I don't think the lip you molded in will be effective enough. Get some yarn and tape it in front of it, and see which way the air goes.

I do like the intake for your air filter. Looks good :thumb:

The type of vent that ^^^^^^ has on his hood would work perfectly.
