My friend and I are attempting to remove all the stickers off his talon, and the eagle badge on the back of the car. What is the best way to get the stickers off? They seem to stay on pretty well. We want all the back and side ones off. Also, I haven't attempted to take the badge off, but it is really old and looks worn. Has anybody else taken theirs off, and if so what is the best way to? Thanks.

If you heat them with a hairdrier, it should aid in there going off. Don't pry them up with anything or you make harm the surface below. When you get them off, use enamel reducer (slow evaporating, the faster or hotter reducer will take your paint with it) to remove the glue residue. Test on an spot you can't see to be sure you won't harm the paint. Finally, be sure to wax the area cause the reducer will strip it. ;)

Good luck

hey i have red 97 RS eclipse that has been driven pretty hard and long. 135, 000 miles on it. The Mitsubishi decal and the RS decal are looking really shitty and i want to take them off comletely. Any ideas for the best/easiest way to take off these ugly stickers without leaving damage to the paint or obvious marks where they had been?

Pick up an Eraser wheel. 3m makes them and they work wonders!! They are basically a rubber eraser that chucks into any drill and it strips stickers off nice and clean with minimal work.

Sometimes you can find plastic razor blades (no edge) at Wal-Mart or Pep Boys. I used them to take the emblems off my Avenger and then WD40 will take off the rest of the glue. Works great for taking off pin-stripes as well FYI

What about a heat gun?
warm it up and make the glue soft it should come right off.
did that to remove my Z71 stickers off my truck.

Just gotta be careful not to get it very hot.

Please just do as suggested above and use the eraser wheel that is the right way to do it and it will work good they are not to expensive and it wont scratch your paint like a razor blade but if you really dont want to do that use a hair dryer and get it warm and pell it off. I would highly suggest the eraser wheel.

For my "GST" and "Mitsubishi" stickers i just used my finger nail and peeled it off. I agree, i would never put a razor blade where the paint is. Then after i got the stickers off i used bug and tar remover and the glue came right off. Now, on the "Eclipse" letters i DID use a razor blade just because those things are really on there and i don't think there is any other way to get the ECLIPSE letters off of that center taillight piece.

i wouldnt use wd-40 as someone suggested before....i had blue tape stuck around my window and someone suggested the wd-40, now there is a weird blotch in my paint..:notgood:

use the heat gun

I detail cars for a living, I do this every day. Use the heat gun or a powerful hair dryer, be careful not to over heat anything (probably not possible with a hair dryer) or the paint slides right off of bumpers. DO NOT use a razor blade, you WILL take paint off with it no matter how careful you think you're going to be. The glue they used is very hard to take off after you get the sticker off. Use goo gone or similar, just be gentle it will scratch very easily.

I used my finger nail to take off the ECLIPSE letters on the taillight with no problem, however in spite of all the buffing in the world I can't get the shadow of them off. I should have just left it on.

Heat gun and a plastic scraper I had to remove many decals with those two items

i went to autozone/advance auto parts and picked up some STICKER REMOVAL worked for me. (it's in a little can and has a straw with it.) It was the safest way i thought!

Guitar Pick! Works wonders on stickers and leaves your fingers and paint in tact.:thumb:
Then hit the residue with some sticker removal solvent like stated above. I think the stuff I have is called "oops", and it takes the residue off in about two applications.
