I just orderd some jdm black brake lights for my egal talon. I need to get a new bumper to put brake lights in. does anyone know the steeps to puting a eclpse bumper on a talon. please help. :talon:

1) black taillights are NOT jdm, ther is very little 'jdm' stuff for dsms because they were produced over here in usa and were exported to Japan and Europe. And over there the Eclipses(Talons were only U.S. and canada I believe) used lights much like ours, only they had amber/yellow corners. And as far as the jdm motors....those are usually pulled out of older Evolutions.

2) Are you wanting to swap your talon rear end for the eclipse one? or what? If you are, make sure it's something you really wanna do, some people like the look of the talon rear more than the eclipse...

3) as far as the 'steeps'(you really should use the spell check function...) first thing you do is remove all 3 taillights, this give you access to the 3 bumper bracket. BEFORE you remove any bolts here, make sure to check the corners of the bumper, most are held with 1 or 2 screws or bolts on each side, take these out first(might have to take out the hatch interior to get to 'em) then remove all the bolts from the brackets, and the bumper comes right off(after you detach the license plate lights). The 3 brackets are what hold the majority of weight of bumper, however, the talon ones are lower than the eclipse... to figure out where they go you can either put on the eclipse tails and test fit the bumper... but there SHOULD be indentions a few inches above where they are, and that's where the eclipse has 'em... you'll have to find someone that knows how to do it..but you'll have to either have new brackets welded up there, or have your old ones broken off and relocated... a friend of mine with a body shop helped me, he charged me $40 to remove and relocate the center bracket(which is the only one I'm using besides the corners, seems to be doing just fine) and fill in the holes where it was taken off. The reason I say decide on what you want, is that breaking them off and relocating them AGAIN will be a pain, and the center one HAS to be moved down for the talon, otherwise you'll never the center light on...

4) if you need pics search the forums for something like 'eclipse conversion'

and if you need a rear bumper, i have a 95 Eclipse rear bumper already painted black in good shape if you wanna pm me and maybe we can make a deal (but i've NEVER shipped a bumper before...)

good luck

look up the eclipse conversion, tons of threads on it.

just for future posts you make here,

eagle > egal
ordered > orderd
steps > steeps
putting > puting
eclipse > eclpse
