I tryed to wax my paint, starting with the hood but it made it look all effed up. It was changing the color of the paint, but it wasnt doing it in any predictible way. I now got random shades of champaigne on my hood and cant figure out what to do with it. Anyone got ideas?

Wax and tar remover will take off what you put on (most any auto parts stores will have some). If you were putting it on in direct sunlight or when the body of the car is hot, that can happen due to the wax hardening too quickly. Make sure when you wax to do it in the shade with the car having been out of the sun for a couple hours (and make sure that you haven't driven for awhile since the hood will be really hot for awhile after you shut the car off).

I use Zymol cleaner wax and Nanowax (by Eagle One). works WONDERS to revive paint color etc.!! I highly recommend it. When I was at a car wash in town here a guy in a prelude started talking with me and I pointed out how my paint was kinda dull, so, he basically waxes my car and it looked brand new.

It's worth a try. I bought the nanowax at Advance Auto.
