:dsm: im just starting out in the great world of dsms and plan on knowing a great lot by the end. as of right now i am tight on money but would like to know everyones thoughts on what i should to do my car to make it look nice for now and save money... speaking that i don't think i can handle putting a kit on myself this might be hard

this is where im at as of now http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/816455

Lower it, get some rims, and tint the windows. That'll make a nice clean lookin car.

Even a set of GSX 17" or a pair of 5 spoke GST rims would looks good. And you could always paint em.

in my opinion, and only because you asked. i would start by lowering and putting some nice wheels on it. 96 Talon is right about putting a nice set of Stock GST for GSX wheels on the car. a good waxing would do that car some good, looks like it has a little sun fade. if you can find it, theres this stuff called Finese. alot of car lots use it, makes the paint look brand new again. and then i would take all that red out of the interior. its a little ricey to me, the center console and the dash pieces are ok, but the steering wheel, seat belt buckles, and the panel around the guage cluster is a bit much for me. However, in the end its your car and you can do whatever the hell you feel like doing to it.

quick summary - start small, wheels deffinatly. lowering, deffinatly. maybe throw a simple exhaust on it and a good waxing.

Keep in mind that you may not have this car for such a long time, so what I would do is buy the transferrable upgrades such as rims, maybe lowering it, though I'm not sure if you can transfer that over to a fwd turbo.

I definetly agree with the other guys, lowering it, some nice rims, but that interior isn't really working for me, it isn't the fact that they are painted but that the colors don't match each other, a little fine tuning and it could look pretty sweet. Decent start though.

thanks guys as for the colors not matching the brightness in the picture screws that up cuz the panels shine and look like a lighter color but besides that i like the ricey look just cuz its my first car but as for lowering it... why? what does it do? and how do i go about doing that is it costy $$$$

thanks guys

New struts and springs is the best way to go about lowering them, and it is not all that costly, it will suck up that ugly wheel gap that all stock DSM's have.

Well in my opinion a lot nicer. Cost anywhere from $400-$1200, all depends. You can look in the parts catlalog at the different options.
