Ladysmith,
I hate the 1ga spoiler on the talon that raps all the way to the mirrors, even the 1g one that stops on the quarter panel ain't great, but I love the look of the 1gb spoilers.

Is it possible, or has anyone ever tried mounting a 1gb onto a 1ga, without TOO much drilling and custom fabbing.

Thanks

Wayne

it can be done.
the hatch peice on a 1ga talon is basically the same as the 1gb eclipse hatch peice, so no work really required here.
HOWEVER if you wanted to switch to a 1gb talon spoiler, you might be better off getting a 1gb talon hatch and spoiler, less holes to fill and less holes to drill.
for the sides, you will need to fill holes and will need to drill some holes no matter which spoiler you decide to go with.

Yeh, the spoiler is off my tsi right now, so there's holes everywhere and tape covering them up LOL ( I bought it like that), but yeh I think i'll atempt this, any one got any pics of this, woulnd't mind seeing what it looks like.

Thanks

good luck if you try it.

as far as pics....if you use and eclipse 1gb spoiler...its going to look like the 92-94 eclipse basically....
the 1gb talon spoiler on a 1ga would be alittle more unique...and don t have pictures of that sorry.

Yeh, the 1gb talon spoiler was the one i was going for, cuz yes its mor unique, but just looks better, oh and there's no eclipses here in iglooland.

Is the 1gb a one peice or 3 peice unit?

Actually Im about to to almost the samething. I have a spoiler from a 92 I think Talon that I got painted with my car (93 Eclipse) but Macco will not put it on for me, they say they dont do 3 peice spoilers. So the question I have is, it "seems" that the wings and spoiler either go over the bottom window trim or instead of the bottom window trim. Anyone know for sure?
Thanks
Chris

Look through the gallery, I'm sure you'll be able to find it, I'm almost sure its under the window trim. (92 and 93 are the exact same ?? aren't they)

That is what I thought but it does seem to be a bit away from the body if I line it up that way and then the pic attached also leads me to think it goes instead of or over the window trim. But Im still looking and looking and looking. :)

That pic is of a 90 or 91, in your first post, you stated 92 spoiler onto 93 car? There the same car? I think you must mean 91 or 90 spoiler? I confuzzeled

Sorry about that. My car is a 93 Eclipse. The spoiler is the wrap around kind (5 peice) I have 3 of them, from a Talon. What Im not sure about is the the trim that is already on the bottom of the windows. Does it stay on and the spoiler and wings line up on the bottom or goes on top of the window trim. Or do I remove the trim? Looking at it this morning it seems it goes over the trim. Other question is that there was square holes that that plastic parts went in that the screws went in to mount them. Whats the best way around that since I cant drill a square hole. :)
Thanks.

Just noticed that the spoiler from the talon seems about 1" smaller in then my Eclipse. Is this right? Really dont want to screw up my car after I just got it painted.

as far as the holes, you drill them out then use a file to make them square. there may be an easier way, but thats how i did it.
as for the trim question, im not posotive on that one as i dont have a 90-91 car sitting around to check

for the last question, not quite sure what you mean that it is smaller....

If I place the spoiler on the trunk it is about 1" (1/2" each side) smaller in width then the trunk lid. Not sure if that is correct or not. I cant seem to find one to look at and its been a year and a half since I removed the spoiler and wings from the talon that I found so I dont remember if it was slightly smaller or not in width.

the hatches are all the same width, if no one gives you an answer by tommarow on this, i will pull the spoiler out of my parts shed and see how it looks on my car and give you a responce to that question

Thats what I was thinking. But as as said it was so long ago that I pulled it, I dont remember and rather not screw up my car especially right after a new paint job.
