do you think that i sould just replace the bulbs in my dash with blue bulbs or do you think that i should buy new gauge faces i am going to buy a black backgroud gauge with cobalt blue from speedhut it seems like it might be cheaper just to replace the bulbs with blue ones. thanx pics might be nice

I did both. I put in the reverse indiglos and also changed the bulbs to blue. this way my needles and odometer also light up blue. i had to remove the orange paint first but it looks really good at night. the only problem with this is *eventually* the orange lights in all your other dash buttons will bug the crap out of you and if your like me spend an entire week taking them apart and putting in blue leds so everything matches. unless your not as picky as me. :D

ya i just spent the last 15mins reading the 13 page thred about replacing all the bulbs seems like a head ach i was looking at the needle kits as well is it worth the money for the kit? is it hard to put the needle back to where it is suppost to be thats something i read was it was hard to put the needles back in. do you think it would be easier and look better to just buy the face's

putting the needles back was a little tricky. you just have to mark where they were when you took them off but even then they didnt match perfectly. i ended up following my friend while he drove 60 down the freeway so I could manually line it back up. i dont have any experience with the needle kits but I have heard they dont look much better than just clearing the orange off the stockers. buying new faces is easy since they just overlay on top of the stock faces. you dont even have to pull the needles off to do that. it just depends on how involved you wanna get into this project. like most mods it just takes a while, but in the end mine came out lookin really good. im glad i did it. i should try to get some pictures of it at some point. either way good luck!

so you just took off the orange and changed the bulb color for the needle? thanks for the help

basically you pull the needles off. on the back side is orange paint. get some finger nail polish remover and some que tips. soak the q-tip in the polish remover and scrub the back side of the needle and eventually the paint just comes right off. now you have clear needles. on the back of the guage cluster when you take it out there are about 6-8 bulbs you have to change to effect all the needles. theres a thread floating around out there somewhere which shows you a picture of which bulbs do what, but if you take them apart you can kinda see which ones light up what. Thats it. Really not hard just time consuming. Also dont rub the needles too hard they can break easily.

gimme a few minutes, im gonna try to take some pictures of it.

Where did you get the gauge faces at? I've been trying to find white (not silver) gauge faces that look stock (don't say speedhut on them), that light up dark blue (not aqua or green) for quite a while. No luck so far. The pictures look great!

Thanks, I got them off ebay about 3 years ago but I don't remember who I bought them from. At the time they were all over ebay so I'm sure theres still some out there some where.

I was afraid you were going to say that. I haven't been able to find any decent looking ones in a long time.
