I'm still trying to build myself a good stereo system. I've decided I want MB Quart 6.5" components and MB Quart 6x9 2 ways. (give input on those choices if you like) but now, I'm having a hard time deiciding on what amp I should get.

Is the JL E6450 better than the Kicker KX700.5 ?

I can't really tell.

I'm also planning for a Clarion head unit and as far as subs go..maybe 2x10" JL's? Maybe one 12" MTX?

Anyways, I need some help!
also if you know of a good forum where I could learn more about this let me know!! Thanks!

for the id go with 1 12'' jl w3. I have it in my car sounds very good i have a 5 channel alpine amp powering my stuff sounds good..
for u choices i dunno

amps are all a matter of what brand u like. i like most of kickers stuff. but, imo jl has the best amps on the market at the moment. jl puts much better quality power supplies and boards than most other brands in the same price range. as far as mb quarts. im not trying to tell ya what to buy but rockford fosgate now owns mb quart and rockfords stuff just seems to keep going downhill every year. the mb's from a couple years ago sounded great though, just couldnt get much bass out of the components. i havent installed a set though in a while. unless u plan to enter some sound q competitions im sure u will be pleased with the mbs and the jl amp.

I too believe that JL Audio has the best amps out today. You don't even need a very powerful one to push even the best subs.

good stuff, the reason i went mbq's was because i heard they were superior do to different polarity of the magnet?.. meh!
but would you say that 6 channel JL amp, tied into 2 10" subs would work out fine? thats 150w each..I thought it seemed a little under powered.

should i be concerned with ohms? what ohm will my speakers be? if they're 4 ohm then my rms will be down to below 50w, but only 2 ohm would be 75+
and for sub ohms well i ahve no clue. and would 2 10"s be betetr than one 12"?
I'm a total newb.

ok first, if ur not concerned with ohm loads ur gonna have some burnt amps pretty quick. if u have a 2 channel amp that is stable to 4 mono then u are gonna want to buy 8 ohm subs, unless they are dual voice coils, then u will need dual 4's. if the amp is stable to 2 ohm mono then u can run a pair of 4 ohm subs, dvc's would be dual 2's. this is if ur gonna run the coils down without running series. as far as 2 10" subs being louder than one 12. well as long as u had the same amount of power on 2 10's and the same amount of power on a 12 then yes the 10s would be louder, being the same subs on both sizes.
