I got the idea from ym friends trans am ram air... I shaped a piece of sheet metal then mig welded it to the fender, ground down the welds, used some bondo with fiberglass, sanded then painted. It will soon be connected to a piece of 3" pvc pipe which will be connected to my k&n. Let me know what you think

Yea it was a bit of work but the finished product makes the front end look much more aggressive IMO. When I get the lights back in I'm taking a full photo shoot, so I'll get some really good pics up then. :thumb:

very creative idea! I like it a lot when you talk about function, like a ram air scoop. Keep us posted with pics. Do you plan on doing the other fender to keep it looking even?

I actually like it with only the one side done, it looks pretty badass and gives it a "racy look" if there is such a thing LOL. Im also making a custom RM style lip for the front bumper... I'll make sure to keep you guys posted.

I would like to see some pics of the entire front end with the headlights and front bumper on.

I have to agree. I think that the ram air will work very well, also that may eliminate people taking there headlight out.

this is true...no more lying to the cops saying me and my girlfriend just broke up and she smashed my headlight with a bat :D

LOL!!

Hey I'm still worried about getting myself out of tickets for no inspection...

It is unique, thats for sure. I hope you see some positive results from it. :thumb:

IMHO this reminds my fender.

That is definatly tight Kuris, I think I remember running across that awhile back in the gallery... :thumb: I like!

i REALLY like that. Would be good for those running a stock SMIC as well I would assume? Anyone have awrite-up on how and anyone do it on a 1gb?

I actually designed a removable piece (where the pvc is) and i have 2 seperate pieces of pvc, one closed and one open. They just clip right in and when its raining a just instal the closed one. The closed one is sealed from the outside but is vented so taht the intake can still pull in air from the engine bay.

Heres a crappy drawing:

are you going to do both ferders that way or just the one ? either way it will look cool, i like it :thumb:

In my opinion....the fender mod is HOTT :thumb: :thumb: . Nothing better to me than custom work done yourself. Even if its ugly (and in now way is that fender ungly) theres a certain amout of respect for custom stuff like that.

boosted: big props for that creativity... often considered doing something similar to mine since that front corner just happens to be smashed in....

look forward to a frontal bumper headlight look

KURIS: your written english is better than half the folks on here... no apologies needed.

I REALLY love yours as it keeps the stock profile...

Custom or premade fender?

that is damn creative, very good work, clean lines and welds BUT, doesn't look right on the car. the front will look very uneven with one side bigger than the other. the one kuris has on the white 2g looks alot cleaner without anything sticking out. boostedgsx, you do have "monster garage" fabrication skills (excellant :thumb: )definetly good work but hey its your car.
