Im wondering how all us bigger 2g owners(im 6 foot 245) keep from hitting steering wheel with our knees?Im wanting to get some racing seats but will probly make worse. What do you guys do?Oh yea i sold my 1g laser and got a 96 eclipse.

not a 2G owner but am bigger 6'1 I raise teh steering wheel and scoot the seat back

I would also like to know about this...Is there any racin seats that sit low, or equal to the hight of stock....or i there a way to make them sit lower. I know allot of us tall guys would benafit from this information, as I am almost 6' 6" i was going to get a mr2 but didnt fit...an the spyder is the smallest car i fit in :)

I know exactly what you all are talking about, im 6'6" 300lbs and my head kinda rubs the roof of the car, but i have a sunroof so i can kinda lean towards it and it gives me an extra inch. When you open the door to my car you would think i drive totally lying down but its like that just for my legs.

Do ya have to put the top down :p

That is the only way I can come close to fitting in my friends miata.

I'm about 6'2". I just push the seat back as far as it will allow me to still reach the steering wheel and pedals easily. I also try not to slouch more than the bucket seats make me.

My friend, who is 6'5", has to push his seat back all the way and ghetto lean just so he doesn't rub his head on the ceiling.

Thanks for the replies! My steering wheel is all the way up and both seat lowering adjusments are down..So anyone personaly know of a racing seat that sits lower than stock?

I would think the racing seats would sit you lower . . . can also go the route of installing a smaller steering wheel- maybe even one where the bottom is flattened (gives you that little extra room)

I'm like 6'5 245 and have the same problem. The conclusion I came to is Sparco makes this tiny ass rectangle shaped steering wheel (don't remember the model name). It is really small and seems like it would help. Im going to pick it up one of these days.

Excelent, no i dont have to put the top down, I fit, wit the steering wheel all the way up and my seat all the way back....luck for me im a slim guy so its not too much of a bother, but i hate how my leg touches the door pannel on on side and the center console on the other....It makes me appriciate just how big my corvette is.

I'm 6'1" and I had this problem. A smaller diameter steering wheel has cured it completely. I bought another (4th) 2g with a regular wheel and I hated driving it. If I hadn't sold it I would have had to add a smaller wheel to that car too.

I once let a local shop use my car to test fit brackets to lower a Sparco seat about 1.5" - 2" from normal height. They might stilll have the bracket specs. You are free to contact them about it. I never installed one in my car (6' 160lbs) but I let them use my car free of charge for the test fit.

It was for a 2G hard top. I dont know if they even have the master mold, or if they can replicate.

im 6'5" 170 lbs and i did fine in a 2g (a 97 that was a friend of mines)...i just leaned the seat back a lil more than usual and scooted way back, but still had the steering wheel down. my 1g was excellent for me until i nailed a telephone pole this week

quit your bitchin im 6 foot 9 320 and i fit in my 91 gsx eclipse... yikes LOL... its a tight sqeeze... some guy flicked me off the other day i pulled over and started to get out of the tiny car and he just shit his pants hahaha

anyone seen that simpson's episode where nelson makes fun of the tall guy for driving a little car? just popped into my head

I am 6"4" and 275lbs. I have the worst time driving with my helmet on for Auto-x. I bought an aftermarket race seat and already have attempted to fab up a bracket for it. It still sits about 2-3" to high. Has anyone tried to cut out the floor pan a little and getting rid of the metal lumps under the rear seat bracket bolts, who's only purpose is to make the seat sit real high up? If there are any ideas floating around please let me know. If I hear that I should push the seat all way back one more time, I think I am going to go postal.

get an aftermarket steering wheel, momo makes several that have a flat bottom that would help when using it in its lowest position..also you can get steerign wheels that have a much smaller diameter then the stock one

hahaha LOL my seat is back as far as it will go so i can only fit 2 more people in my car.. im 6 foot 2 200lbs and i can sit in it fine by just putting the seat back. sorry about that...dont go postal.....thats what works for me and im pretty big. iknow its different because some people have different size legs. im not telling you to though.
