i originally got this front end because i didnt like the stock one and i thought it would flow more air to the intercooler, i really didnt want the whole kit. but now that im looking at it i really dont like the look of it from the side w/out the sideskirts. What do you guys think? what could i do to make it look okay w/o sideskirts, put the OEM one back on?

btw: the tape was a temp fix for the marker light that fell out earlier.

I think once painted it will probably look OK. Atleast the front isn't way lower than the sides of the car.

I actually don't think it would look bad if you sanded down a few of the lines. Bodykits tend to over-do bodylines, but if you can sand it down and make it a bit more subtle to match the OEM sides, I think it wouldn't be bad at all. I circled some of the bodylines in paint just to show what I was thinking. Maybe someone with some PS skills could mess with it. Just my opinion though, take it as you will :thumb:

Also, cover up the side holes with some tight-knit wire mesh or something.

Take bumper off, buy full kit, paint and put on. Or go back to OEM. :thumb: :talon:

It will look nice either way.

It would be nice if that would work, but you can't really sand the shape out of a fiberglass bumper. They are made in a mold and are not thick enough to sandout a body line. Now you could cut it and refiberglass it the way you are talking about, but that really doesn't seem like something he is looking to do.

i would do this if i had the skills but i dont, I really appreciate all the opinions...I may take it to a body shop and see what they can do but I really dont like the whole kit..I don't know what it is about it, i think the whole thing is just too much. i have done a little work since the above pics were taken VVV ...what do y'all think now? I mean, the front would be fine if they had'nt put those big-ass triangles on either side :barf:

The only fiberglass kit I saw was pretty thick...I haven't seen the eBay ones. It is too bad its so thin. You could maybe re-fiberglass everything...it would be a pain. It doesn't look horrible...cover up the holes in the front bumper though.

Anything is possible, it just depends on how much money and time you want to put into it. But you are right I think some black small mesh grill would look killer in those voids. Also a larger front mount would help, but now I am just nit picking.

id say get some clean sides and rear triangles. i dont really know what they make for 1g's but that front actually looks good with those sides, just wish the sides were a little bigger/lower or they made a modified version of the OEM just larger and lower. i like the black rims they look good. put some mesh in the side openings definitley.

the best idea i can come up with is to SELL IT TO ME :D

I personally think you should put the OEM bumper back on for now. Save $$ for the sideskirts that match the front. After you do that, save $$ for a paint job. When you get to that stage, put the front and sides on so when your paintjob is finished, you get a more more consistant flow of fresh paint throughout the whole car.

Also with just the aftermarket front and sideskirts on the car, you'll get more of a raked look which isn't bad IMO. The stance should look a lot meaner that way IMO

Good luck on your plans :thumb:

Put your OEM one back on, and start experimenting in fiberglass. Mod that bumper so it is a little shorter, and a little smoother. You would be amazed how simple it is if you take your time, and do it the right way.

either put your OEM one back on or get side skirts. i dont really like the rear bumper for that kit though. i wonder how it would look with the oem rear bumper but the side skirts and front bumper? i dunno, im a fan of OEM though
