Does anyone know if the oem seats out of a 3g will directly bolt up to a 2g? Any insight would be helpful?
Thanks

Virtually no chance, but they should be adaptable. Plan on welding up new mounts for the tracks. 2G floors aren't flat.

This is true and I know from experience. The 3G seat tracks are 1.5" wider first of all. If you notice on the 2G the right track is longer than the left in the back. The 3G has both the same length. Hell even the electrical & seatbelt connectors are different.

how bout 2g seats in a 1g?

The 2g seats I got fit in my first gen without any mods at all. Then again, they look a lot like a different color 1g seat which makes me think they might not be original 2g seats....

helpful information.. seems like the 2g's are more likely to come with leather than 1g models

So I was browsing eBay again, and came across these

Do you think the seats from the 3rd gen will fit fine? They look almost completely identical to the 2nd gen ones. The brackets look identical too. Just wondering if anyone would know first hand, because I have found a LOT of these seats on eBay and around the web for pretty cheap (compared to 99 ones or racing ones.)

Just bumping this because it had no replies and I had another thought. Is it possible to take off the bottom half (slider part) of the 2g's and transfer them over to those seats (3rd gen ones)? I don't know how hard the sliders are to come off, or if they do for that matter.

Because, $350 for black leather seats basically brand new is a VERY good deal... I guess I could always buy em and try, if they don't fit then just resell em :p

what color seats u looking for. i have a full 98 gsx grey leather interior ill sell for 350$ including back seat and deck lid

will a 3g or a 4g seats fit a 2g if so that would look great the newer seat or bad a**:hellyeah:

I'm planing on putting 3g seats in my 2g eclipse soon I already know i need new mounts welded and its gonna be a pain in the ass and the back seat wont fit but i got the set for 50 bucks black leather, also the left rear mount for my drivers seat was rusted and broke off so i would need a new mount anyway. I wanted to get some input for all of you and see if anyone maybe tried this or has any ideas that maybe differ from mine. My idea is as follows;
I was gonna cut the mounts out in a square on the floor where the bolt holes are then move the over a 3/4 of an inch on each side and drill a hole and weld a nut to 4 1/4" thick steel plates and then weld the plates to the existing mounts where i cut them out on the floor.
do you guys think this is crazy or do able?

Anything is do able but are you up to it? You could modify your new seat brackets to fit your 2g layout. Or you could leave my old mounts alone but weld new ones in next to it to save time and if you dont like it you could go back to a 2g setup. But I would not cut and move my existing mounts that is unnecessary and much more work.

I might do this but before I had put the drivers seat in from the 3g and it kinda sits like and 1/2 inch higher i mean its ok for since Im a little on the short side but im sure i could make it work. I also thought about taking the tracks off the 2g seats and putting them on the 3g seats but they would still be wider right? I think the length is the same its like 17" and something i cant remember off the top of my head

I don't know the difference between the two but if you're willing to do some welding it defineately will work. And you want to get creative you could try modding your back seats also just be careful of the gas tank!
