Hey....Okay listen... I wanted to know what would be the most money effecient and easiest way to convert the whole interrior to black...Change carpet, door panels, and a few other things, when doing it does it look OEM? or can you tell that it was done. What types of paint, brands ect. Also, I was wondering if you can dye cloth seats.
Thanks for the help...heres the car I'm planning on doing it:

What color is your interior now?

I would highly recommend getting another dash/doorpanels from a junk yard in black. The vinyl areas on these parts are much more difficult to paint succesfully. As for all of the rest of the panels, as long as you clean them well, they paint perfectly fine with walmart dura paint. They will chip though if hit right. Doing it this way looks stock though, like it was always that way. Also, get the walmart durabrand fabric paint/dye for the seats and carpet. It will take ALOT of coats, but this part probably turns out better than the rest as it pretty much stays forever if you do it right.

You could do it right and sand everything, then use eurethane paint with a flex agent to make it look really nice, but it wont look stock at all... and it's a ton of work. I've been working on it for a week now : /.

have you ever heard of painting the interior with automotive paint? i have a cheap spray gun and was considering painting my interior to the same color code as my exterior paint and then putting a clear coat on it....im just trying to figure out the best way to fill the leather pattern to make it completely smoothe

Damn....For that price I could BUY brand new seats :thumbdown But theyre nice :thumb:
Thanks for the idea :thumb:

I'm in the middle of an interior job now using eurethane (exterior) paint on my interior. As far as I know the vinyl HAS to be fiberglassed. I am fiberglassing my whole interior, headliner included, but you don't have to from what I've heard. The plastic parts can just be sanded to look smooth, then painted with exterior paint and a flex agent.

I've been going at it about 2 hours a day for the last 6 days. It's alot of work : /

Yea, I was planning on changing out my dash and painting the rest of the panels to match. I've got a black dash if you want...I'm in lower MI, PM me.

There is another thread that was just posted yesterday of someone painting interior panels with a spray gun and it looks very OEM

I think the only other thing im gonna have to do is carpet and door panel leather or whatever....gotta check it out one last time to be sure tommorw. I could be wrong on the color of the interrior but either way its mint!
