I'd prefer an in-cluster pod more than I'd like a column pod. But keep us updated - if it turns out nice, then I'm sure you'll have plenty of takers, myself maybe included!

sweet! so far it IS ghetto, basically the body is so tall that the steering wheel does have to be down, i cant bring it up. I think I can fix that though. You can also see the oil gauge fine, Im kind of tall, so I can see it (6'2). anyways I got the idea awhile ago and started the project yesterday. So far i am just going to make myself one, but maybe sell. I dont know yet. updates for shizzle. :thumb:

yes, i've 'glassed before, never quite looked like that though. i wish you the best of luck finishing your project. enough patience, and i'm sure it'll turn out fine.

there are many other ways to go about it where less filler will be needed FYI. try using fleece and saturating it w/ resin. for a piece like that, it'll be more than strong enuff, & lots less filler required.

Yeah, but the stuff I did -and would have tried with something like this- involves carving the shape a bit under-sized from closed-cell, rigid urethane foam, and then glassing over that. Then fill and finish, and carve out the foam. You get the last of the foam out with a brass brush in a drill. If you're going mass-production, then you make a mold using the first one as a buck.

Thankfully, paint can cover anything. :thumb:

i used pantyhose for the body and soaked it in resin for a night, then glassed it. the shape of it is so weird that the glass did get bubbles in it. this is my first time so, hopefully i get better :thumb:

ok. little more sanding needed than normal. but next time try fleece, you shouldn't even need to do a reinforcement layer if you soak it good enough from BOTH sides. get a good, thick, patterned fleece. (the patterned ones are usually thicker than the solid colored fleece)

looking forward to the next set of pics though to see how this thing turns out.
