thats not charcole grey, its magenta grey pearl. which means its grey and a shade of purple and lots of pearl (lil tiny bits of metal) LOL which in a way is similar to that chamelion paint that people use, in like pure sunlight the car looks dark gray but as the light fades or u move to a diff angle it looks more purplish, i get so furious when people call my car purple!!!!!!!!!! drives me insane.

Yeah, I have the same exact same color car...I want to hit people who call it purple.

Well thats the only color that they made your probably referring to for the 2nd gen eclipses, I believe some talons had that color too.

Unless u were reffering to a color like this which is is300 graphite grey, its obviously custom though but sure looks hott as hell. Tahts GOtEclipsed car i believe.

Actually, pearl is tiny bits of mica. They are translucent and just bend sunlight. Thats why a grey car with purple pearl looks grey in the dark and gets a purple reflection in the sun. Metalic paints actaully have pieces of metal in them that reflect light. Most common paint jobs just have pearl mixed in the base coat color, but some high end paint jobs actually have a tri coat that has a seperate coat of pearl on top of the basecoat. A custom tri-coat pearl paint job will really add depth to the color of your paint.

The auto body repairman :thumb: in me had to comment on this. Just thaught I'd let you guys know.

I will when I get it painted (I'll have a new digi cam by then)...so if you can wait about 6 months :thumb:

Until then, here's a couple good pictures of the Lexus color. Freakin' beautiful. You can see the Pearl really good in the last picture.

Frontwheeler is correct when it comes to the pearls. My car is a custom tri-coat pearl, in fact the base coat on the car is actually Magenta Grey Pearl A87, I just added 2 coats of purple pearl overtop of the stock base when I re-sprayed the car.

I just hate it when people say my car is purple, the ignorance...LOL j/k
