What is the "ATT" wire at the back of my deck?

I'm wiring up a Sony CDX-M3DI deck. There is a light blue wire coming from the harness that is marked "ATT." It says nothing else about it in the instructions. What does "ATT" mean? Thanks.

Thanks, man. I have a wire marked "ant rem max 0.1A" that is dark blue. I also have a dark blue wire with a white stripe, that isn't even listed on the instruction manual, and the light blue wire. Thanks for the help. That was really confusing me.

Dark Blue --- Power Antenna wire to put up antenna when radio is on, off when CD player is on or deck is off.

Blue W/ white stripe --- Amplifer turn on lead, turns on/off with deck.

LIGHT BLUE --- ATT is to mute the deck when it receives signal. For cell phone kits. When the phone rings, the kit mutes the deck.

In other words... Cap it off, you don't need it. :)

Thank you sir! It all makes sense to me now. It is about to be done. I can't wait to get this hooked up. I've been without a stereo for a month, now. :thumb:

Your welcome. I haven't had a stereo in my car since I bought it almost a year ago!! And I have Thousands of dollars worth of equipment right next to me as I type this!!

I just installed my sony deck, and I just capped it off.

Which model did you choose. I found, after I bought it, that the faceplate was not removable. I just wasn't thinking about it because EVERY CD player now has a removable face. Eveyone but mine. I expect it to be stolen within the week. That nifty little TFT color screen will grab some teenager's attention.

I, also, had trouble with the install. The deck doesn't want to fit in the upper space of the double-din opening without sticking out like a buck-tooth. AAAGGGHHH!!!!

yeah, i had that same problem when i installed my JVC in my car. but i think i just finagled a bit and finally got it to sit in there right. ATT is for attenuate and yes it is for cell phones and such. to all buying new decks. The Sony 7705 is a sweet deck and if you are in the military or have access to a military exchange then the deck is only 199.99, and everyone else has it for 279+. Just thought i would put that out there.

It's all hooked up, now. I got it installed correctly by drilling the appropriate spaced holes in the factory mount. It fits perfectly, now. Thanks.
