Worcester,
Has anyone here bought a blitz fiberglass body kit.. the guy told me its for 97-99 i have never heard of a blitz kit for 97-99 always thought they were 95-99. does anyone know about this? also are all blitz kits direct bolt on or does it take some fiberglass work? i think im gettin a good deal on it if it is direct bolt on no work needed but does anyone know anything bout this. if it wasnt direct bolt on have any of you had this problem and how much was it to have someone get it to fit?

I have a 97-99 fiberglass blitz kit on my 97 GST... Yes you should buy whatever applies to you, 95-96 or 97-99. Do not buy one that says 95-99 because the headlights are different. My kit required the drilling of holes into the kit and the body, and some shaving off the driver sideskirt up near the pedals and some shaving off the back by the gastank. Other then that, it fits fine, It's just a bi*** to patch every two months when I crack the front...

I notice now that you have a 96, so if you want the 97-99 kit, just pick up some 2Gb headlights or you could get some projectors. And, for the back, you will just need to buy new reverse lights.

I don't think there is such thing as a direct bolt on kit. They all require modification and of course prepping, primering, painting. It can get expensive quickly, read up on it and ask different shops for ballpark estimates. Remember, not all shops are equal and some may cut corners concerning safety and fitment.

^^^^ This is so true ^^^^

Some kits go on with ease, other require hundreds of dollars of modifications. It's a gamble. :dsm:

If you live anywhere with sudden inclines, speed bumps, sudden declines, or have a habit of pulling your front bumper up close to anything go uerathane. You won't be sorry. I've cracked my blitz front bumper so many times. It sits lower then stock and sticks out farther. But don't get me wrong cause it looks awesome. I just wish I would've gotten the Urathane. It doesn't crack or break like fiberglass. Also make sure you get one for your year car and if your putting it on a talon you'll need to get the eclipse rear lights or do some custom body work.

thanks for the advice guys ive decided im not going to buy the kit winter is comign anyways i scrape my stock 96 bumper alot already (cars lowered 1.5 inches) im going to hold off for now might put body kit down line but i do like 97 conversion with gsx turbo spoiler. for now im gonna get some other things ive been wanting power locks intake header upgrade my aftermarket speakers that came with the car just some small things. thanks everyone

I've never bought a kit anywhere but eBay. You just have to decifer the $hitty kit vendors from the good ones. Not all eBay kits are good and quality, but there are some. The only reason I always look to eBay, it because most places elsewhere on the net, sell only fiberglass. :notgood:

I bought my blitz urethane kit from www.extremedimensions.com not only did it ship hella fast but it fit perfect also. The only thing I don't like is it doens't come with mesh, so just order that at the same time 2 sheets for 39 after shipping, makes it look that much better.
