Joplin,
I am getting ready to install a 5" tv in my 2g Eclipse (LOOK AT PIC), where can I relocate my air conditioning controls to? Under the seat? Glove Box? Has anyone done this, do you have any pics, please help!!

Well i'm not postive so don't quote me on this. I think I read somewhere that you can't take your hvac out? or relocate it? But I am not positive. I do have a friend who relocated his cd player in where the vents go he just had to do pretty decent amount of custom work and then put a tv into the the stock cd player goes. But on that note the car he did it on wasn't even a dsm. I don't know if this even helps at all or gives you any idea's? LOL but i guess anyhting helps?

I know for a fact that, if you remove your vents and cut the heat off, in the 1g DSMs you can relocate your cd player to that area. I have seen it done at least twice.

From my experience, customization is endless, you can put anything anywhere on your car with the right amount of knowledge, ability, and imagination. So check the HVAC out and see what you can do with it. Personally, I would take them out of clear view if possible. Maybe underneath the steering column.

i know on 1g that the hvac controls have can not be moved b/c they are use like levers and cables to control things but then again that is a 1g i am not sure about 2g

thanks guys, but if i put my cd player where the vents are, will it still blow behind the cd player, i don't want it getting too hot? I will try and post a pic of the tv when i get a pic of it.

Its pretty easy actually, just take off the bottom panel (around the shifter) and just use a dremel to cut a circle in the dash, take out the cigarette lighter of cours (who needs it), and hook up the gauge. Takes about an hour-2 hours depending on how experienced you are.

you will have to block off the duct with somthing - the stock vent has the dam that blocks the air- if you remove it, you need to stop the air some other way
