My valve cover is painted and I'd like to keep it clean all the time, but dirt and tiny rock molecules get in the indentations where the spark plug wires are and they're real difficult to get rid off. I tried Endust and Fantastic with q-tips but nothing picks up this crap and removes it. What is something strong but harmless to paint or a new technique that I can use to clean this crap out?

i've used my Craftsman ShopVac before and it helps somewhat. otherwise, remove valve cover, and hose off. dry completely, reinstall.

And how quickly do rock and dirt molecules decompose?
Have some of you fellows been running your engines with the garage door down?
