I just got my VIS OEM CF hood on... It's been like 2 days and I'm starting to notice that along the edge of the hood it's beginning to get faded. Sort of like a hazy (cloudiness) that is especially noticeable in direct sunlight. I thought VIS was Grade A???

From what I have heard from others, you need to have it clear coated because the cf isnt uv resistent and will begin to haze and eventually turn yellow like our headlights. I would call vis and ask their opinion/suggestions.

I thought they already came with U.V. Protectant layer? And I bought it from prostreetonline.com ... It is a real ViS Hood.

VIS hoods SHOULD already becoming UV protected. not many hoods come without that coating, but i would just call VIS and ask.. hopefully you get someone there that isnt a ****, as VIS is known for. good luck, vis is starting to go back downhill...

I have a question about that too, I've seen a few hondas with VIS CF hoods that are faded to holy hell, actually more yellow. What causes that in a "quality" product

My bro just told me that he noticed the blemish before we even put the hood on. I'm sort of relieved (even though I recieved a slightly defective product) but atleast I can hope it won't spread and fade the whole hood.

Because painting it to match his car would look atrocious, and he would have to focus on keeping himself from committing suicide every time he got in the car, instead of driving.

there are shady shops in the bay :thumbdown . never know. take it back. mine does not do that. mine has been under the sun for 2 months car hardly driven and i havent washed my car in 2 months. I do wash the hood every 2 weeks. and it still looks new. car is in san jose so you know its hot!
