Ok, i have 2 questions about my sidewinder alarm, model 5000. it was installed in the car when i bought it, so i dont know much about it. my first question is this. if i remove the positive or negative wire from the battery A) Will the alarm lose all memory and not work properly and B) Will the alarm go off when the wire is reattached? will there be any other negative effect of removing on or both of the battery wires. My second question is this. When i bought the car, the previous owner told me he disabled the chirping, so only the lights would flas when armed and disarmed. he said he did this by snipping a wire inside the horn mechanism for the alarm (not the horn on the steering wheel), and that the chirping could be re enabled by simply reconnecting the snipped wire. so i opened up the horn and i saw the wire he was talking about. i could tell that at one point it had been snipped, but then it was reconnected. i checked and made sure the connection was good. the chirping still doesnt work, although sometimes it will make a very faint chirping noise. not all the time. i want the chirp to be enabled at full volume, every time the alarm is armed and disarmed. can someone with some experience with this ysstem tell me what i need to do. thanks and sorry for the long ass post.

Re-snip the wire and connect it yourself, if it makes a faint noise, then it's probibly not properly connected.

yea ive tried that already. im gonna try it again though. it only makes a faint noise about 15% of the time, not every time.
