i've had subpar radio reception (not horrible, but patchy and staticy sometimes), both when i had the stock infinity unit and now with my aftermarket head unit.

any suggestions on improving it?
are there better antennas i can replace it with or should i do something with the wiring for the existing antenna?

check the antenna ain the rear... i have atalon so I am not sure abut eclipses but many power antennas have a rear antenna jack too incase you ever need to replace them.

perhaps this one is loose, or the mount itself could be loose

check where it plugs into the radio itself, as well, if anything looks corroded you cuold try some electrical cleaner. I also had a signal booster on my crx, I don't remember where I got it but I am sure you can find it on google. Just look for Radio signal booster. It didnt make a real big difference, and sometimes it boosted the static as much as the signal but I would say overall it helped. Also make sure the wire isn't grounding against the frame anywhere, same with the antenna.

Are you sure you're not receiving too many signals in the frequency you're trying to receive? How far away from home have you had this problem?

I can't remember the last time I had a car in your neighborhood. I always take the subway to Shea Stadium.

i get fuzz/static from the radio pretty frequently while driving. i don't notice it in my friend's cars when driving in the same areas, listening to the same stations.

i'll check the connections and stuff and look at some options. i think it's somewhere between the antenna and the harness that plugs into the stock headunit. i've changed the headunit and the effects are the same so i think there's something awry with the antenna portion.
