Does this price for a 97-99 front bumper too much?

There is this person selling a front bumper for 300 shipped to me. It comes with the grill and fog lights. Does it sound reasonable or too much? Thanks.

yeah a little $$$ and you can get the fog lights just about about anywhere (30 bucks i believe?) if they are stock...or just go with the piaa 1100x

you should be able to find a used bumper on the net for around $100-$150 shipped with some searching.

Dude, read my post. When it's said and done, you might as well get a brand new one and get it painted.

there's a good chance of finding a used bumper that is already the color he needs...which means no prep-work whatsoever.

and if not, any shop i've come across will charge the same amount either way. with a brand new bumper, prep-work will still more than likely be needed. nothing is ever perfect.

The bumper he is selling is the exact color I am looking for. Would it still be better to buy it at the online store? It does have fog lights on it, and he put some grill on it.

i think that guy's bumper would be ideal, you just really need to negotiate.

factory paint is gonna always be waaaaay better than an aftermarket job, so if you can find a bumper in your color, you're set. if he really wants to get rid of it, he'll work with you. if not, keep lookin!

That's odd, b/c either their half-assing it and just painting over the original paint, which is BAD, or they're doing a lot more work for free by not charging to sand the bumper's original paint off. And the bumpers on the link I gave him are already prepped.

But if it's the exact color of your car, I'd go that route. Unfortunately for me, I have a custom color so that's never an option for me.

i've done quite a bit of body work myself, and even worked in a body shop for awhile, and with the right equipment (ie, power sander/air sander) sanding a factory bumper should take no more than about half an hour at tops. unless you're gonna sand the bumper completley bare, which usually is not necessary.

i'm not saying there's not some extra work required when prepping a painted bumper...i'm just saying the price difference should not be too signifigant. i guess it depends on the shop tho. my advice to know for sure is make a few calls.:thumb:
