Okay, I'm installing a new radio today, because the stock radio's tape player doesn't work. To know what each wire went to (the wiring diagram was worthless) I took off the back of the stock radio and read the connector information off the PCB. I ran into one wire on the back that is labeled as "ANT". I assume this is an antenna connector, but my car has a non-powered antenna, so what's the point of this connector? And should I connect it to my radio's power antenna wire?
Also one quick other question. The stock radio illuminates when the lights are turned on, and there's two illumination wires (+ and -). Should I splice these two wires together for continuity or are they okay to be left alone?
Thanks for your help! I've got the radio already working but trying to make sure everything is fine before I install it completely.
EDIT: Just to clarify, the ANT wire is NOT the antenna input cable. That's a seperate wire.
