Last night I hooked up my brand new rf stage 3 punches and my kenwood XC amp. I have 4 ohms going to the sub and about 533 rms. The sub is not hitting hard. My buddy has a stage 2's on a 400 watt kicker!!!!! Could my enclosre be too small? Do i not have this thing tuned right?
Thanks
Ben
Just seems that for the money i spent they should be hitting a hell of a lot harder then it is!

post some photos, how did u wire it, what are the specifics, what gauge wires? also, what ohm is the speakers? how big are they? what enclosure are they in?

Amps make a big deal also. But If you have a "better sub" than your friends your box could be wrong. I ran into the same prob once, had a kicker solobaric(old school round ones) put it in a truck box sucked ass, swapped it for a box with twice the space from sound pro in rapid city. Box made a hell of a difference, pounded harder than anything I've heard up till then. So in short try a box with more airspace.
Edit:
just double check the settings on your amp and deck, you could have then gain turned all the way down or mabey the sub is turned off from the deck.

Well if you really are running at 4 ohms, your not gonna be getting 533rms out of ANY kenwood amp that I have ever seen.

Kicker amps are far superior. My guess is ytou either dont have yourt shit wired up right. Your box is wrong. Or the most logical: your amp.

IS your sub box ported or sealed? Did you make it or buy it?
