well my car got stolen last week and i recovered it yesterday. no 50 trim, no fmic, no exhaust. basicly everything i installed is gone. i want some crazy alarm ideas so this wont happen again. nothing to radical because i will actually be putting them on my car. i had a viper ( i forget the model number but it had a 2 way trasmitter that didnt even alert me) that didnt do shit. any help will be apreciated. also anyone who wants to donate money to the "rebuild a car fund" can paypal me at [email protected]. damn only having liabilty LOL.

ever think about a switch board wire in series with the ignition with about 15 toggles wired so that there is a combination of some up and some down so that even it they manage to break in and jimmy the ignition the car wont start you could hide it to like under the seat or behind a false pannel on a hinge

also, run a seperate wire to a relay in your engine bay for the starter wire. Have a hidden switch for the starter and fuel pump.

thanks for the ideas. anything else. idealy i wanted to have the car star for about 20 sec then stall and not start up. after that lock the doors so they cant get out. not something i will do but it would be funny to see the theifs face when it stalls and they're locked inside

yah the only good thng about it was it had a built in turbo timer.

im also gonna tack weld the nuts on the turbo/ exhaust manifold on. that way itll be a bi*** to get them off.

Buy one of those GPS homing beacons that can track the car's location wherever it goes. Plant some C4 in the bi*** to remote detonate it while the thieves are driving it. Have full coverage first though!

nah thas too much $$. i figure if i weld the nuts itll be a bi*** to get off and under the pressure of having a stolen car they will prolly #### up the part. i mean ill still loose the part but it at least they wont get it in good condition. plus the switch board idea and imma put a fuel cut and a cut on the coil pack. it should be pretty safe...i hope

actually If I was stealing it, i'd jst use an air chisel to bust the bolts if they did not come off.

If it is hard to take off with out damaging the part for you:
1 it won't be for them, they have air tools
2 they won't care if it breaks, its free.
3 you will curse the day you ever had such a brilliant idea.

If you have it and someone wants it bad enough, it will get stolen.

You need to find a better place to park. How did they know you had all these parts? Stickers? Roll calls?
Never disclose what is in your car to people you meet, don't boost on the way home. After going out, take diferent routes home, drive around a bit.

I've seen people folowing me on a couple of occasions, usually I pull over in the emergency lane with the blinkers on and stop, wait for them to pass, or if they stop get the hell out of there. Call the cops if you are being followed, (and if you don't have any outstanding tickets) they are generally remarkably genial about helping you out, as it saves a lot of paperwork on robberies & murders, it makes them look good (most theives have warrants or convictions) and it make the insurance companies happy. Ifyou were to report that you were being followed, and feared for your life, they have to roll if only for liability reasons.

If you can't park in a garage (apt dweller) try to arrange something with the owners, and get parking closer in a well lit area.. Crime stats count against them when people are looking to move in. Whether its performance parts or not, they don't want breakins and auto thefts...

Oh and now that you have been hit, its a good time to get different tags and debadge. they know where you live/work and what the car loks like and the tag. They know you have good stuff worth stealing. And they know that it is unlikely that you are not going to buy more good stuff.

my .25

i dont know how they knew. i dont tell people whats in my car. not one damn sticker on it, ive never seen anyone behind me when i go home, but im not always payin attention. i always park in the garage but i was cleaning it out that day to make more room for my car. ironic huh. im very careful about protecting it and i thought i did a good job. guess i was wrong

sounds like you were just unlucky, they boosted it and stripped it and got good stuff.

Keep it in the garage from now on!

 goes for anything My 2003 dodge ram 4x4 was stolen yesterday morning right before I was going to work I here the dang think happen and thought that it was the loud neigbors. when they were breaking in to the turck and then here the truck(gibson catback) driving away...thinking to myself who would drive down my street at 6"30 am(still light out they don't care)at WOT....but I thought dang that exhaust sure sounds good. oh well I how who ever has it right now torches it because god only knows what they will do to it. and after they mess with my baby she'll never be the same.

my system got jacked along with all my cd's a while back, bastards!
came out to the car at lunch with my girlfriend i unlocked the doors(yes the dick locked them back for me!). Then i noticed the hvac cover was on my seat and i knew i didnt leave it like that. I looked at my stereo and it was gone! Nothin but wires and blood(haha dick cut the hell outta himself stealin it! blood all over the outside and inside of my car) and get this he didnt even take the metal sleeve! That's wut cut him! Left prints but i never caught him. I still havent saved up to replace it, but i'm gettin an alarm now.
He jimmed it, anyone know a good method on how to prevent a theif using a slim jim(besides an alarm)?

Least They didn't break your windows. Happened to me twice before I had an alarm. I got a two way pager system, but now I'm sweatin bullets

Luckily, I had the deck bolted in, so the didn't get that, but my cd changer was another story :(

would this have cost less money to just have better (more coverage) insurance? I would assume that due to the value of the stolen gear, that your rates will increase.

my friend put the loudest siren he could find in the car under the dash so if it was stolen the sirens would go off inside and if they were tryin to hot wire it they would have to deal with that siren in their ear and whiel driving it... he put one under each side of the dash hidden... 2 up front.....2 in the rear.
