ok, I'm sure this question has been asked several times, but I couldn't seem to find an answer. Well it goes like this: I had to remove the carpet in my '95 talon to dry it out after a massive water leak(luckily I got it fixed) and I tried to pull the POS pioneer deck out that came w/ my car to put in my nicer sony deck and my amp and sub, but I couldn't figure out how to get down to the mounting brackets and stuff(I know how to pull the deck alone). What I need to do is get the old brakets out to put my sony ones in. How do I do this? Any advice would be apreciated.

Thanks in advance :thumb:

If your car is anything like mine, remove the side panels. They usually have one screw holding it in and a plastic piece of some sort.

is the cage actually screwed in or is it holding its self in with the tabs that you bend to anchor it in place? if its just the tabs holding it in it really shouldn't be much trouble to get the cage out...

the cage is screwed in with 4 screws, 1 in each corner. if you pull the hvac/radio bezel off, you should be able to see the screws at each corner of the radio.

when i did my radio (i change radios maybe every other week? none seem to impress me to the point where i keep it any longer) i dont need to remove the side panels. take off the radio bezel, lift up the center console and pull it back a little bit, then you can unscrew the brackets that hold the radio in.
